4th of July @ OKW

OK, so this is our first time spending the 4th as a DVC member. From what I've read in previous post the SSR has a fun filled day planned, but does anyone know if OKW is planning anything special? We're already planning on going to Epcot that evening. DH & I will be there from 7/3-7/7.

I'd guess that there's something scheduled for the 4th- check in the Community Hall. On Memorial Day there was a pool party that lasted for a couple of hours on top of the normal activities for the day.

We will be there from 7/3-7/7 also. In it's early days OKW went all out and still have a pretty good celebration. Last year they had games at the main pool as well as a DJ. They also have a Pargo parade put on by the CMs.

We've spent quite a few 4th's at OKW. There's usually pool games, a pool party, a pargo parade at noon (cm's decorate their pargo's and do a little "parade"). There's also usually some treats available for members staying at the resort. Check your "Hank's Happenings" newsletter when you check in.

"In the old days" the 4th of July at meant waking up at OKW running to each park to get the LE 4 of July pins back before 11 Meet the family at the pool. Root on your "favorite CM's in the parade Get a picture taking with Goofy. Get some popcorn and cotton candy Listen to the DJ
Take a snooze Wake up for more action Head over the Polynesian to O'hanas. Watch the fireworks. Head into the MK for the rest of the night just for punishment. Head back to OKW in the wee hours. Waking up wishing we could do it all over again.

No longer collect pins. Our home is now the OKW for the family. The relatives fought to make reservations at our OKW this year for the 4th. Man sometimes you really miss the old days. Welcome home and enjoy your stay over the holiday at OKW.
