We had a great time this year, but DS's family is going to cut back on their air/travel expenses and won't be joining us. Is anyone else thinking about going back next year, or going then for the first time? The crowds weren't bad, and the weather was much better than we expected and the MK's fireworks were amazing.

I think we'll do 5 nights WDW, 3 nights VB. We'll try going to VB second, since many people seem to prefer it that way.

Anyone else?

I'm planning on going back for the week of the 4th next year. The crowds were WAY down this year except for MK fireworks. I'm hoping for the same crowd levels next year, or better.

We're planning for Hilton Head next summer. We'll do WDW in September, January and maybe March.

I'm thinking about a July 4th trip for next year - thought we'd save some money on airfare and take one nice long trip rather than several shorter ones.

As it stands right Now we will be back for the 4th as well. We LOVE our BWV 4th of July trips.

Glad to hear the crowds aren't too bad for 4th of July. We are going on the Dream June 26-July 1 and when we get off, we are planning on staying through the 9th. My DS is graduating from high school and then turning 18 July 7th. We will be there and were concerned about crowds. We are sooo excited.

:) DH's Bday is the 4th. I mentioned going for a long weekend one year and he rolled his eyes. Sounds doable though. I got to spend my 41st Bday in WDW and want to offer him the same...his 47th is next year.

Normally crowds are pretty bad on the 3rd and 4th of July. Usually MK closes due to max capacity at least for a period of time on the 4th, at least it has in years past. This year was the oddity, as it seemed to me that the crowds were lighter than I'd seen them in the past and I don't think MK closed at any time this year on the 4th as it has in years past.

Don't get me wrong, it certainly wasn't a ghost town - it was still a very heavy crowd, especially around fireworks time...just not as bad as previous years. Can't make any promises about next year, though. Just hope and see. It's still worth going, even if you have to fight big crowds, IMHO.

On the 4th, in the early afternoon Epcot has concerts with the Voices of Liberty on stage and then Mickey, Goofy, and Donald join the fife and drum corps also on stage. We went to the first show and 50% of the seats were empty, but when we went past for the last show, it was definitely more crowded. By the time of the fireworks, Epcot was very crowded.

We're planning a trip from June 30-July 9, so I'm very glad to hear that maybe the crowds won't be so bad. :cool1::cool1:

We were there this year for the 4th! It was the first time for us to go at this time, and DH already is planning to go at the same time next year - it worked out really well with his job.

We were with a large family group this year (14 of us), we all arrived on the 4th, and it was the first trip for one family, so we went to Studios, where they had a terrific firework show, and we had a fun meal at 50's Prime Time. I will definitely be seeing MK's fireworks next year, but was afraid the crowds would be a turnoff to our newbies! :scared1:

I will say that the Monday morning after the 4th, MK was a ghost town! We went to CP for an early breakfast, but even after the park opened, the crowds did not pick up until lunchtime. We had such a great time that morning! :wizard:

We also thought the crowds and temps were much better than we expected. I know next year could be completely different, but it worked out really well for us this year!
