Glad your sis is doing well Rochelle and happy birthday to your bro!! :)

For those interested in a Food & Wine meet for next year, 2011, not this year, I've started a thread here. One of the problems with this is that we won't know the actual dates until early next year. Like I said in my previous post, 2009 dates were April 24-June 7; 2010 dates are April 16-May 31. That makes assuming anything about the dates difficult.

BUT I'll start the thread anyways... we might even get some new divas who want to join us.

Timing for me will be a little harder because DD graduates college next May, which I hadn't even thought of until this week. Amazing how fast it's gone by. And who knows, there may also be a MouseAdventure during the same time, if we're lucky!! So I say we hold off on the dates for quite a while, even until after the 1st of next year... we just have to patient!! This year, DD finishes this semester the few days after MA so I'm staying out in Cali just so I can pack my van full of her stuff and drive her home!! :) No sense in driving out, driving home, then driving back out a couple of days later.

Stacielee and Daisy - I would so be in for a mini meet for the F&W. Probably just one night for me, but I could share a room and enjoy the festival with you. I am sure Cheryl, Chris and a few other locals would like to come, too. Maybe May 1st-ish? After Easter and before Mother's Day? You guys pick.:goodvibes And if we really want to do it in style and stay at the villas, Cheryl, Chris and I all have DVC points for maybe we could work something out?;)
ohhh, exciting!!! I love things to look forward to! Hoping you don't all decide to do Mother's Day weekend, as I'll be gone for 4 days for my bday/mother's day/ anniversary scrapbooking getaway :) Yipppeeee!

Good morning ladies. Thank you Carol and Kelly for starting those mini meet threads. I know you'll both do a great job of overseeing those fun meets! Happy planning! I wish I could make one or both of those as I love NorCal and have always wanted to go to Seattle, but sadly it's not in the budget this year. I will live vicariously through you all.

I wanted to let you know I posted links to all the mini meet threads and our WISH thread on the front page. So if anyone needs them, they can always be found there. In addition, if at some point we decide to do any more exchanges like last year that's where those links will go as well.

The post looks like this and is down under all the individual photos.

Hope that helps. I also hope everyone is having a good morning so far. I'm cleaning. :scared1: I waited and waited for the cleaning fairy to show up and she never did. So I'm doing it myself.

Have a good one. :)
AWESOME! I'd love to try to make it to one of these, so I'll be watching :)

Tracey~ We stayed there in October! I loved it!! Its so nice!! Not in walking distance, but the ART is available. It is right across the street from Garden Walk. Very, very nice! The Pent house is AMAZING!!!!!!!

Great to know Deb! I am just loving all the possibilities right now!

I did not get the AP. I was planning on doing it the next trip and hoping to get two trips and a family trip out of it. We will be at WDW in December. Hopefully doing a Merry Christmas Party and then doing a 4 night cruise. We are then doing another 4 night cruise on the new boat June of 2011. The in-laws are joining us for that one.

I've always wanted to go on any kind of cruise and a Disney one would be amazing! DBF went on one when he was a senior in high school and said it was great and that the island was really cool. Have fun!

Lucky ;) I would love to live 10 minutes away from the HP Pavilion. I'm about 45 minutes away, traffic not withstanding, but I guess it could always be worse! It's a big reason why I don't get to too many games. I just don't have the time to drive out there. I'd have to leave before 5 my time if I wanted to beat traffic and I'd still get caught in it. But my classes make that impossible.

I think that's why I take photos galore at games. So I have something to hold me over until the next game I actually have a chance to get too. It's so hard for me to admit I've been to 2 games this year. I normally make a lot more, but all my money has been going to Disneyland. So ... I guess it's a fair trade-off.

;) I am always up for hockey talk.

See, times like this is the only chance I have to keep up with this thread, lol. School this semester is taking up all of my time. And it's all because of art. Can you believe it took me over 8 hours to get all this done:

And I still want to completely block half of it so nobody ever has to see it.

This is so fantastic you have no idea... I could never draw or paint like that until three semesters into art school!

Thanks - It's Gouache and then a coffee wash in the background ;)

This class is driving me nuts. It's just intro to drawing and painting or something like that and is required for my degree in digital media. Let's just say drawing of any kind has never been my strong suit. I kind of hate it to be honest. Which is so hard for me because everyone in my class loves is and draws loads in their spare time. I feel so incompetent sometimes!

I feel your pain! I have a BFA and focused in photography. I had to take four semesters of drawing (which was 1/2 of my degree attendance pretty much) and don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. I was sooooo pessimistic because all I could draw before art school was abstract doodles in notebooks and stick people. It took until the middle of drawing three to realize that I was pretty good as long as I took the time to work on a drawing. I only finished one drawing my entire time at art school because I just spent way too long on the drawings and could never feel satisfied about them but they were due and new assignments followed so they just remain unfinished. I was the best at the human figure and did a lot of self portraits. I want to post some of my drawings (the second and third show how it gets easier)

The first drawing I'm posting is a self portrait w/ foreshortening project and I stopped working at 50 hours. I ruined it using spray fix because it's color pastels. The color transitions on my face and around my eyes bled together, leaving them less defined. Still... it's my favorite figure drawing and it's the drawing that made me feel like I could do it. My "ah-ha" moment...

The second was from my least favorite class in art school... Communicative Drawing (which I took as an elective as a 5th drawing class... I hated it) and the assignment was to take a phrase and draw it... I drew "when hell freezes over". I was only about 15 hours into it so I'm only about 1/2 way finished but I didn't care about it very much. I wanted to show it to compare it to my third.

The third shows how I progressed with architecture drawing skills with just one semester. It is the only one I've ever finished and it's a funky rendering of a photo I took at the Brooklyn Bridge water front. I'm a black and white film photographer and I thought it would be cool to render some of the aspects of the image in negative. That took about 30 hours because it's much smaller.

The crazy thing about drawing class is that every digital media and photography student gets frustrated about having to take them, but I have to say that now that I'm done... drawing really was so crucial for learning how image composition works and it literally changed how I understand what I see in the world and spacial relationships and dimensions.

Don't be freaked out by the 50 hours thing... remember... I am just ultra slow at drawing and I'm extremely anal retentive about the details. Again, I'm so impressed that your work looks that great, even with 8 hours. When I started it would have taken me so much longer to draw or paint a shell!

Sorry I didn't realize how ginormous those pictures were! EEK! EEW they aren't very sharp either.

Subscribed to that too!

Hello Ladies,

It's almost Friday!! :yay: I just wanted to thank you all for the well wishes for my sister. Her surgery went well and she was able to return home yesterday. My mom is going to stay with her for a few more days and I believe a friend of my sister will be staying with her next week. So she is in good hands. :goodvibes My sister told me that every time she woke up after the surgery (when she was still in recovery), they would give her shots of morphine and then gave her vicodin + morphine.

Today is my brother's birthday. I got him a gift certificate to amazon.com so I hope he likes it because he always buys stuff from there. :rotfl:

Hope you are all having a good day :littleangel:

I'm glad everything went well with the surgery! I love amazon.com gift certificates because everything is always less expensive there and there are great product reviews.

I was just thinking the same thing. Typically by this point in the day I have pages and pages to read in order to get caught up. Where is everyone? Can we all just make up and be friends again???

Yes, please.

I hope that I am friends with everyone! I don't have a clue what went down, but it sure has been very quiet.
