Trying to plan our 4th of July. The major plan is to stay clear of MK but does anyone foresee there being any sort of Epcot fireworks?

I think HarmoniUS at Epcot is likely to start up sooner than MK fireworks. That is unless they need another 18 months to work out the final kinks like Rivers of Light.

Feeling DISHarmonius today after experiencing the barges up close taking the friendship boat from Canada to Morocco...
Does anybody believe the quaint little trip across water will drown all chances for survival .. the castmembers seem upbeat and want to say nice things as they are giving the safety spiel. Once upon a time those boats made the full circle with more stops. Just another disappointment from Disney. Enjoy it while you can. I went to MK on Easter Sunday and the only thing I did was stand in line for Jungle Cruise ... not aware it would be last time to see Trader Sam.
(I still believe I think) but doubt we will see fireworks at Epcot this July 4.

I will see fireworks at Southlake, Tx staying at the Hilton ( Dallas area )
Anybody else Love their fireworks? Yearly family tradition fun !!!

Nobody really knows at this point but most people believe Epcot is more likely to have fireworks before magic kingdom simply because it's easier to distance. That being said, with WDW's track record since reopening last year I do not expect them to do any large scale fireworks so long as the CDC still advises against large gatherings.

They are still attaching gold design to the Castle Towers for 50th Anniversary and the testing for Harmonious is giving a 2022 date according to cast onboard Friendship today.
Maybe HS haha ? Definitely not AK. Last year for Covid 4th I think nearby Margaritaville Resort had fireworks. Fun day at the H2OLive WaterPark and Garden Walk in Kissimee.
Reports of hearing fireworks lately from 4 Seasons near Golden Oaks For their guests?

This doesn't make any sense. They have large gatherings now at MLB games - and Disney is not large bc of restrictions of park capacity. Do you think there's a chance they'll do short fireworks and a light show once every so often on the castle - like they did for the holidays but 4th of July themed?? I just can't imagine they won't do ANYTHING in MK for the 4th this year.

I still am sticking with my thoughts that you will have fireworks back at the parks sometime in June, or starting up again maybe 4th of July weekend onward. Fingers crossed. I hope I am right, but if I'm not, I wont be surprised. Either way I believe fireworks are back this summer

There is barely any distance at the parks now when full, so not sure that influences the fireworks at this point, especially if you aren't going full capacity yet. Obviously its not on top of each other like normal Disney fireworks days, but I think you can distance to wear you feel comfortable enough. Were outside. Just going into Disney at all we accept the risk. I might as well enjoy some fireworks also. Disney might be enjoying saving the money.

Either way, hoping for the best, and a nice surprising outcome.

I think there is a chance for Epcot 4th Fireworks as Disney is starting to take "baby steps" out of Covid World:

1)Allowing maskless photos
2)Removal of hand washing stations
3)Increasing Capacity for Summer

But Disney IS large. Even with the restrictions you are looking at around 35,000 people at full (reduced) capacity. Granted, there are a lot of MLB stadiums with larger capacities than that (if they are filling to full capacity, which I don't know that they are), but the areas that people gather to watch fireworks at Disney are not as conducive to spreading out.

I wouldn't count on 4th of July fireworks this year. Maybe (and it's a big maybe) we'll see a small something brought back for the 50th.

If they have fireworks, I speculate they will be a last-minute surprise, but that's just a wild guess.

Has there been any confirmation yet of increased capacity for summer? I know the park reservations for hotel guests got replenished the other day, but I have not seen word yet on whether that was due to an increase in capacity of the parks, or due to a reallocation of some of the AP reservations.

Sure, I think they'll do short bursts at unannounced times like they have before but I don't expect anything that will entice people to gather in the hub and on main street to wait for a show. What MLB and NCAA baseball does is irrelevant. So long as the CDC recommends 6' of distance between people who don't live in the same house, there is no way to gather people in the hub and on main street (even at 35% capacity) for a fireworks show.
