4th Fast Pass at Epcot

What is the most efficient way to pick up a FP for Soarin' as a 4th FastPass? I plan to use my prebooked Tier 1 FastPass at Frozen Ever After but don't really need the two Tier 2 FPs. Do I book two throwaway Tier 2s? What then? Can I scan my first throwaway and then immediately move up my second and scan it?

The plan is to tour FutureWorld during morning EMH and head over to my FEA FP which I hope to schedule for 10:00(ish). I've been checking on MDE and same day, afternoon Soarin' FPs have been available around that time.

I hope that made sense!

That's what we did just last week. Booked FEA for our Tier I FP and then just threw away the Tier II to get another one for Soarin' later in the day. There were plenty available.

When you say threw away, you mean you booked 3 fastpasses and then after FEA, you cancelled the two Tier 2 fastpasses? And then it let you pick another Tier 1?

Cancelling won't work - it'll just free up your two Tier II fp's for you to use elsewhere. You need to *use* the Tier II's to get another Tier I. One approach is to go to the touchpoint where your Tier II is booked, and scan your magicbands/tickets, but not ride. The system considers that as using them. Or you can actually ride your Tier II rides, of course.

Probably not necessary to throw away your Tier II's, as I've heard that TT and Soarin' are usually available as 4th FP with refreshing.

I think (but could be wrong), that FEA FP's don't start until 11:00 am, even though FEA opens at 9:00 with the rest of the park. We were there week before last and were able to get Soarin, TT and FEA as 4th, 5th and 6th FP's one day. You will need to use or scan your band at the tier II's before you can book the 4th though.

No, meaning that we left the Tier II FPs, but didn't use them. Once the time had elapsed while we were doing other things, we were able to book a 4th. You could always walk over there and scan your FP at those attractions as well.

Thanks for the replies! So, maybe:
9:10 AM FP Spaceship Earth
10:10 AM FP Figment
11:10 AM FEA

Grab a Soarin' FP for the late afternoon immediately after scanning my MB at Frozen.

I had planned to ride Soarin' and Test Track during EMH but am now thinking maybe I should join the Frozen Stampede first thing. I'm planning on an early lunch at Food and Wine and was trying to avoid too much crisscrossing.

This has never worked for us. Our expired FPs stayed in MDE, only allowing us to swap for another Tier II.

There are several threads on the Dis Boards that outline exactly how to do this with screenshots. It is a bit complicated to book them but not use them and move them up. If you search the boards you can find the details.

I've been trying to get an earlier FEA for my July trip and can't. I didn't know this.

Believe it's 11am for 1st FEA FPs. I always assumed the reason is because it's in Norway, and WS doesn't open until 11am. But that's still funny since the ride opens at park opening, like you said. PP are reporting very low wait times early, especially with most people RD TT or Soarin' (closer to park opening). Believe the SB wait times escalate once it's past 11am as all of the FP crowds start going through (and the others). Because of the 11am and later FP for FEA, we're thinking FP TT earlier (RD Soarin a few times).

Yes, when we were there, I was seeing wait times of 45 min for the first hour or so for FEA. Soarin on the other hand was at 60 min by the time we get in line one morning at 9:05 am (park opened at 9), so maybe more people are starting to try to rd Soarin first causing higher wait times.

Thanks or the replies! I planned on riding Soarin' and Test Track (single rider) during EMH as well as on two other visits to Epcot but this will be my only day for Frozen. I wonder if I would be better off riding it instead of Soarin' first thing?

Anyone know how crazy Frozen Ever After is during morning EMH?

It's obviously going to vary a ton depending on the time of year/special events, but on a 9am (reg.) opening, FEA was 20-30 min. at 930-940am recently. Yesterday, it was a bit higher at 45min at 9:45am - still manageable if you choose Soarin RD, TT single rider first. We tracked it at 45-55 min at 1130-1145.

If it's roughly a 3 way split at RD between Soarin, TT, FEA - more people will be in FW (2 against 1, and Soarin/TT are closer from entrance). Some who have chosen to RD FEA have walked right on 10 min before official park opening and even gone on it a second time with minimal wait. If RD FEA, could also gain an advantage via early breakfast at Akershus (on a non EMH early day; non Thurs typically) or via the slightly shorter walk but less crowded turnstiles/path from Int'l Gateway (staying at Crescent Lake resorts or Uber). We had picked up an 8am Akershus bfast w/ that intention then changed our minds.

It will also be much lower waits 830-9pm when most people are crowding for Illuminations. Someone wanting to standby FEA late for a lower wait, but not willing to miss Illuminations because only 1 day at EP could go on a late EMH day (i.e. Tue) and get in line just before 11pm.

We've been tracking times because this is a common dilemma for many, and TT has avg. longer waits then Soarin' recently, FEA remains the most desired FP at EP. Thinking we may RD FEA, Soarin, FP TT. We've historically RD Soarin (to go on it few times), single rider TT, and either had FP or skipped FEA.
