46 years ago, what for many here was just a paragraph in your history books...

I wasn't born yet, but looking back, it's quite obvious that the world changed in a big way on that day.

That was a very nice video too. Living thru is all is not a requirement to know that the world lost 3 of it's finest in the short years from 1963 to 1968. IMO, JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King Jr will forever share the same stage with the likes of men such as Abraham Lincoln and FDR. All were true American heroes and the finest the country has ever seen.

There is a museum in Dallas that is devoted to that awful day. They've taken the actual area that Oswald shot from and turned it into an impressive museum.

Thanks for posting that Dan.

I was 5 years old. I remember standing in our yrad by a tree and feeling very sad because Caroline and John-John wouldn't have their father. I used to look at their pictures in LIFE magazine. I have always been intriqued by the Kennedy family as has the rest of the world.

I was in second grade. I remember the teachers all crying in the rooms and the hallways as they dismissed us for the day. We all sat in front of the TV and watched the funeral. I remember John-John saluting his father and thinking how sad the whole thing was. I saw Kennedy in a campaign parade when he was running for election. He was the first president my mom voted for and I remember her being really sad. It is hard to believe it was 46 years ago.

I was in 5th grade when a student brought the teacher a note from the principals office and she gave us the news. Came home early to find our mother crying in front of the tv. Next morning watched the shooting of Oswald on live tv. He was such a beloved president. (We even had the First Family album, by Vaughn Meader.)

I was born about 38 weeks after he died. Things that make you go hmmmm! LOL!!

Thanks for posting this Dan! I wish he'd had the chance to live up to his potential!

I was 6 months old. I imagine is was as surreal as watching the events of 911 unfold as I was watching the Today show. I jumped in my car and picked up my children from school. The school warned parents not to mention it because none of the children had been informed. Much different than Nov. 22, 1963.

I remember sitting on my parents bed and watching the funeral procession while my mother cried :(.

I would give anything to be able to visit that area someday, but I doubt it will ever happen..

Hey Linda. :wave2:

I was at that museum, back in summer of 2000. I was there in Dallas for business and thought I would try to get a DIS meet organized for the Dallas area, staying a couple extra days in the area. We did have the meet, at a big mall nearby, trying to think the name of it. :scratchin. It was a great meet, met lots of folks from the TX area, even some from OK, and Willie (remember him too?) from OK. The next day, I went with RhondaS (remember her? miss her :() to downtown Dallas and the museum. It was a real experience, just being there as the depository, the plaza, where it all occurred.
