45th Anniversary

So I just saw a DPB video showing the new merchandise for the 45th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. I know it is not exactly an important anniversary, but they are still doing some really nice looking merch for it.

Does anyone think that there will be anything special October 1 for the Anniversary or will it be a footnote to that day?

Yes there will be something, D23 put out in the first issue of the year that something would be happening on oct 1 and more details would come out closer to the date.

Just expect whatever limited edition merchandise they offer to be very hard to get ahold of and expect the park to be crowded and understaffed that day (based on what I hear the 40th anniversary was like).

45th Anniversary

I thought you were posting about my wife's and my 45th wedding anniversary coming up this September.

October 1st is our last full day at Disney and we had already planned to spend the morning in MK...looks like we made a good choice

I guess that depends. Based on what I read about the 40th, I might be more inclined to avoid it if possible.

We were only going for a half day in the morning then finishing off in AK for the night events.

Hopefully they will learn from that experience 5 years ago. But it really sounded like they were woefully understaffed for the crowds that showed up. I hope it goes well this time and you have an enjoyable last day.
