45 days out and ADRs?

So I've read that there might be more cancellations around the 45 day mark. Does Disney automatically cancel ADRs if the trip isn't paid for? I guess it matters to me because I'm wondering if I should be checking for ADRs very early in the morning or not. I've been checking every couple hours all day long. (And I *just* missed the ADR I wanted because MDE gave me the server is busy message... ahhh!)

No, the dining reservations are not automatically cancelled. Also, when they are cancelled they re-enter the reservation system almost immediately so it can be at any time of day or night, not just early in the morning.

No automatic cancellation. Anyone who cancels a package has to cancel their dining reservations separately, and there's no telling when they might do that since they won't be penalized until the day of.

I have been able to snag some great ADR 's starting at about 45 days out. Maybe people cancel their trips or maybe they drop the ressies as they finalize plans but there always seems to be an increase in availability starting at about 45 days out. Definitely worth a daily check to try to get what you want. It has always worked for me.

As others have said, there's not an automatic cancellation of the ADRs so no need to get up super early to check for an opening. I do think it's worth it to keep checking it periodically at varying times. You may chance upon what you're looking for. We've gotten lucky before as time has gotten closer to our trip. Good luck in getting the reservation you're trying to get!
