Take a quick trip, or, If they aren't banked points, you can transfer them to another DVC member by renting them to them or trading, they get your this time, you get some of theirs next time, etc.... you can rent them to someone on the rent/trade board (this is where you make the reservation vs. transferring them to an existing member)and I also think you can deposit them for Interval International to be used later. there is a time limit though on how long they can stay in there. You may want to check on that if the rent/trade dsoen't work out for you.
If they are not banked/borrowed, you could also transfer them. If your plan is to rent, you may want to reserve a studio late Feb and try to rent it out.
I went over the deadline by a day or two once and was on the brink of losing 27 points unless I took a last minute vacation. Illness in my family distracted me from being as organized as I usually am. I called member services and whoever answered the phone said they could let me use a "1 time" break and let me bank the points even though I was beyond the deadline. I took it and saved my points. I would stress that this was a very nice thing for them to do. I would suspect if it gets abused they will withdraw this option. Good luck and hope this helps you.
