42 different tickets for a 1 week stay at Universal

Rumour is that some sort of system is in the works to incorporate more things.

The organization at Universal is very different than the way things work at WDW. It isn't a one owner system. Since Universal hotels aren't run by Universal, it has not been a priority. Loews hotels has hotels all over North America and having some sort of magic band certainly isn't something that they would prioritize to sink a ton of money into.

Absolutely on the park development.

Even when Disneyland had us carry a piece of paper to let us charge back to the room (only in 2007!) it wasn't an issue for us. I *prefer* having things seperate. Probably those who like ONE thing with everything on it aren't prone to misplacing stuff. I am.

Disneyland incorporated charging onto their room keycards, but they still have separate admission cards.

And as far as I know they still have FPs, so that's like the express pass. :)

You see it as waste* and bad practice. I see it as perfectly fine.

You chose to book a package with HP meals included (which likely didn't save you anything, and gets you nothing *extra*). You chose to book a package with dining. Those are choices that aren't made by everyone. I've never had those things.

Loews owns the hotels (except for HR but that's nitpicky). So they have their separate room keycards. Universal has the tickets. Some sort of mixture of Loews and Universal has the EPs. It makes *sense* that there are three separate items for three separate things.

And I'll tell you....my husband and son LOVED having the separate gold cards for Club at PBH. It spoke to every part of their "I love having something not everyone has" souls. It made them feel special. (it made me feel poorer, LOL, but that was made up by the 16oz plastic cups of wine they poured me b/c they knew that DS was still sick and was spending most of his time in our room, and I was with him most of the time)

*I have 13 separate MBs just for me. With three upcoming reservations that's 3 more I am eligible to get. If I upgrade to an AP I'll get another. Talk about waste! :) And at WDW (and DLR when I'm onsite) I rarely charge to the room, so I'm still wearing my (Ravenclaw) lanyard with my Witz "pouch" on it, carrying my CC and cash and ID and insurance card (ooh, forgot to mention that earlier). Even with the MB. Which I sometimes wear and sometimes stash elsewhere b/c I can't stand wearing a preschooler's plastic bracelet. (I miss working in downtown Seattle, wearing a lanyard and ID card...so I like the lanyard better!)

My grandmother hated ATM cards.... Preferred her savings book. Never thought they would catch on.....

Had a survey awhile back asking if I would be agreeable to magic band type system @ U. My response was an emphatic no! Willing to bet they are coming soon in some format.

Heavy sarcasm ahead for MB lovers! We joke and call MB's our Viking bracelets, as in we are unable to remove them for fear of offending our liege lord Mickey Mouse:earseek:.

I don't care how many colors they roll out, jibbitz to decorate them or the fancy 'special' MB I could purchase to feel oh-so special by proclaiming whatever special status I many have attained with Disney, :rolleyes1 IMO the bands uncomfortable (especially when wearing watch on one hand/bracelet on another) and they remind me of the cheap wristbands they use at some pools/amusement parks. Mine usually reside on a belt loop or small purse strap in the parks.

I am a few MBs short of being able to stretch from one end of my house to the other. Yes, I know I can decline the bands...I'm on a mission here people lol. Besides, if they are going to make me wear them, they can send them.

If the computer systems ever are able to speak to each other, I'd like to see the ability for all extras @ U to be placed upon a plastic card via a stop at the concierge desk...not to be confused with the front desk checkin lines which are long enough in there current state.

I could go with the plastic card but not the band
Card could be in my lanyard coin wallet

Can't wear plastic or anything with nickle
My mb at the motherland are either looped over my lanyard or in the pocket

Sometimes the UO surveys give you an idea of what could be ahead at the darkside

Whatever they come up with, if it fits in my lanyard, I'm good

Well here are the new lockers at Hulk. Looks like they have gotten rid of the finger print scanners. But you notice now you scan your park ticket or AP barcode. Looks like we are not getting a stupid MB, thank you. :thumbsup2

That's your opinion. Disney spent millions of dollars on the whole MagicBand fiasco. I'd much rather see that money go to park development. Carrying a few tickets isn't a problem.

That whole Magic Band/ FP+ system is a major turnoff. 42 tickets would be too. Can't they just find a happy medium? WDW had it down a few years ago, but then they ruined it.

Ooh I like the look of that! I have fingerprint issues due to a skin condition (imigration's fun...) so a move to just have to scan a ticket sounds fab.

I'm pretty sure we were given separate cards to enter the club lounge the last time we stayed at Portofino.

10+ tickets per person does sound hard to keep track of but now that you've detailed what they're for it makes a lot more sense.

Yeah, we used them in April this year.

Having the club access card separate from the room key is awesome because it's valid all day on both check-in and check out day (just like express passes). If it was linked to a room key it would probably only be valid from official check-in time to official check-out time, so you'd lose out on a solid chunk of 2 days that you get now.

We had no problem stacking room key, club card, park pass, and express pass in our lanyards. If you put them in the right order you never have to remove your park pass and express pass since they scan through the pouch. No complaints from us.

I suppose I might feel differently if we had a bunch of meal tickets to keep track of too, although I always bring along a small zip pouch for that sort of thing, so I honestly don't think that would bother me either.

If linked to card it still works all day.

wow that is crazy! I did notice last time we had 3 cards per person which was a bit much, but to add to it the meal plan ... yikes I would lose them for sure. Hopefully they will streamline this in the future as the parks become more and more popular. Can't wait till august for our trip!!!
