417 toll question

We traveled from MCO to Anna Maria Island. I read there were only 2 tolls, so I had plenty of quarters for them, or so I thought. There was actually a third toll, the kids must have been in my quarters because I was 1 short. We were in a rental car.

The attendant told us to take an envelope and send them a check for the toll. Which I did the next morning.

Has anyone had this happen to them? I am so scared we will get a fine from the rental car company. I have been watching my bank account, and the check has not cleared yet.

There are two mainline toll plazas if you take 417 from Orlando International to Exit 6 (World Center Drive which becomes Epcot Center Drive, a gateway to all parts of Walt Disney World.

There is third mainline toll plaza if you take 417 all the way to I-4 West, the free Interstate Highway to Tampa.

You don't need any quarters for the mainline toll plazas if you use "Change - Receipts" lanes. You can use paper money. The attendants make change and, upon request, provide receipts.

The only time you need quarters is if you take an unattended exit. If you take 417 to Exit 6 or I-4, you will not encounter an unattended exit.

You will not get a "fine" or a service charge from your rental car company if you paid all your tolls without triggering your rental car company's toll-by-plate service. Another advantage of using the "Change - Receipts" lanes with a rental car is that you can get receipts to prove you paid your tolls.

(Of course, anyone with a SunPass or who wishes to use their rental car company's extra-cost toll-by-plate service does not have to worry about quarters or paper money.)

my guess is that if the attendant gave you the env' then they did NOT process an electronic charge so you should be fine.

Sorry you missed the fine print .... two tolls from airport to WDW using the most popular route .... but ....

yes another one if you are going south/west to Tampa . . . to go to WDW most exit b4 the Cel' toll.

DH managed to get on a toll road while trying to find publix. No quarters in the car at all. He snagged an envelope and we sent it off within the week. No issues with National whatsoever.
