41 days until my 1st trip to DLP

Well its just under 6 weeks until me and my family go to DLP all for the first time. There is me, my hubby our 2 kids of 9 & 3, my sister and her daughter of 3 yrs and my dad and his wife...we are going for my dads 60th! We are staying st the Newport bay hotel. What is the weather usually like in mid may... havent a clue and what type of clothes to pack??? Has anyone stayed at the newport bay... is it nice and child friendly??? Im so excited

hello! you must all be very excited!!

I have stayed at newport bay, it is a lovely hotel and as you would expect from disney, very child friendly! They'll love the theming, and as your probably know there is a swimming pool as well.

I'm also going in May, and have been before then. I would pack the kind of clothes you would expect to wear in UK - some light stuff, some waterproof stuff. COMFY SHOES!!! I doubt it will be cold, but my advice is to take layers in case it is. Sunglasses as well. I don't bother with SPF, but you might want to for your little ones (does anyone else on the boards?). A brolly is an idea just in case, as brollies in DLP are above and beyond the price you'd pay here for a cheap one out of Primark!

my little one loved the pool at the newport bay last year although this time we are going to the davy crockett ranch and cant wait to try the pool there.

all the hotels are pretty child friendly and ofcourse you get to meet the characters at certain times which is of course a bonus.

we're off at the beginning of may and expecting it to be warming it up althoug i will be taking a brolly/or waterproof coat just incase.
you might think about hiring a buggy when you are there unless you are taking your own as your 3 year old might find it hard work as you cover a lot of ground where you are there.
