Invited to another 40th birthday party this weekend. Seems all of DH's friends are turning this year.

I have my standard gag gift that I give to most of DH's friends......a goody bag w/daily pill divider, some prep. h, tums, can of creamed corn, bottle of asprin, some muscle rub. You get my drift.

Well the person turning 40 this weekend was at another 40th birthday party 2weeks ago with us, when I gave that other friend my standard gag gift. I'd like to get this weekend's birthday boy something similar, but different. Any ideas?

We're all about gag gifts, nothing "nice" for DH's friends.:rotfl:

How about a gift bag full of straw or stripes of brown paper-Note saying straw hat Assembly required.

Our friends always give "40" of a few items in a gift bag. 40 gum balls, pencils, rubberbands, pennies what ever.

prunes

hair dye

a cane

an AARP membership form (find on internet)

go online and make a list of things that happened the year they were born....or prices of groceries THEN and NOW

I love the idea of a one-year AARP membership in their name - aren't these only like $14 a year? That seems like a good, cheap, funny, yet worthwhile gift!

a favorite among my circle of friends is decorating a mug or other type of container and putting ""40 sucks" on it and thebn filling it with tootsie pops or dumdums or blowpops....cute and dirt cheap :goodvibes

I delivered a dozen dead roses with a poem about aging to my friend on her 40th. She thought it was great! I saved them from my b-day which was in January.

A bag of marbles--she will likely soon be losing hers.

I've also done 4 golf teas, 4 bags of tea. Or, for a decent gift 4 boxes of special tea. (4-tea, get it??)

My sister gave my dh a bottle of prune juice and a couple of wine glasses that she bought a homegoods so he could toast his 40th. We thought that was pretty clever, and since I didn't know what to do with a bottle of prune juice, I saved it and served it to my mom on her 60th a month later.

My SIL got this HUGE pair of granny panties! Maybe you could get a guy some old-man patterned boxers or some really baggy underwear???

::yes:: We do this for all those big milestone birthdays! A bag of Dum Dum suckers lasts forever! When I've been REALLY in need of doing this "budget," I've just decorated a white lunch bag and put the suckers in the lunch bag - no mug! It's always good for a laugh!

We have done this twice for our friends - since this time of year there is Easter candy in the stores.

Buy the bags of Dove solid chocolate eggs (about 1 1/2 inches long each) and pick out all of the blue-wrapped ones.

Then put them in a container with this label: The "BIG" little blue pill - when you need all the help you can get.
