Next August we are going to celebrate my wife's 40th b-day in WDW. What she doesn't know is that I am having about five of her friends and their families join us down there to celebrate during that week. I hope it's going to be a complete surprise to her. We'll be staying at BCV as always, and hopefully the others can stay there too. What I need help with is knowing what to do with that large of a group and what works well and what doesn't. We visit WDW every year so I know what to do with our small group, but what experiences work well with a large group so that I make sure that everyone has an unbelievable trip besides just the surprise b-day party. Thanks.

We celebrated my 40th at OKW a few years ago with all of my extended family. We planned alot of downtime because not all of the family is as crazy about parktime as we were. We had an afternoon or two of just lounging by the pool and "hanging out". The one big thing we had planned was the Hoop Dee Doo Review. We had made reservations and were all seated together. They do usually have all guests who are "celebrating something" stand at a certain time and are recognized by the crowd. This was a great meal, alot of fun, and everyone enjoyed it. We also took everyone over to the Poly beach one night to watch the Electrical Water Parade. This was a non-expense event that everyone enjoyed.

Have fun planning. Nothing like celebrating your "40th" at WDW. Especially, if it's a surprise. I can't imagine how wonderful this will be for your DW.

I would suggest you look into the Magical Gatherings on the Disney World home page. They have lots of stuff for groups of 8 or more including special seating for Illuminations etc.
