Hi Does anyone have any ideas of what I can get my friend's husband for his 40th? She is having a birthday BBQ next weekend and I don't have any ideas. He's not a drinker so alcohol is out. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Does he like any sport teams? Maybe tickets to a game or some memorabilia type stuff. Does he like to golf? Maybe some good golf balls. Does he like to bowl? How about a gift certificate to a local bowling alley. Amazon.com gift card. Shirt. I don't know, the list is endless.

Is there any place he frequents for lunch or for morning coffee? My DH has a tendency to stop at Quik Trip in the mornings and Taco Bueno is one of his regular lunch spots when he goes out so a gift card to either would be very appreciated....just a thought.

When my BIL turned 40, I got him coins from the coin collector shop, since he collects coins.

My brother is turning 40 in Aug....he is probably going to get 40 bucks, since he likes money.

I like the idea of forty of something, like forty golf balls, forty fishing flies, forty gold Sacagawea coins, etc.

When my husband turned 50, my brother and his family got him lots of sets of 50. 50 nails, 50 assorted screws, 50 cheez-its, 50 light bulbs (he has a thing about running out of light bulbs), and a bunch of other 50's. All together not too terribly expensive and cute.

I gave my DH a 40th party in January at the Italian club.....we served dinner. Here's the gifts he received....
$150 cash from someone, $50 Best Buy card, $25 Home Depot card, $25 Lowe's card, $30 movie card, 2 bottles wine, yankees t-shirt, lottery tickets, Pittsburgh Steelers book, Applebees $40 card, $40 cash, a sweater (that didn't fit and the people never helped us to get a new size - we think it was re-gifted from Christmas LOL)
that's all I can think of that he got

As well as sending my DS in Texas a couple tee shirts & some other odds & ends, I sent my DIL some money so she could get him 40 cans of Mtn Dew, his favorite soda when he was in high school. No way was I going to figure out how to ship those cans of soda from WI to Texas! It's still his favorite too as far as I know. DD sent him 40 of his favorite candy bars. As I remember, he got a kick out of the gifts of 40 whatever.

Have fun, OP, deciding what to get.

How's that Steelers book? Would you recommend it to someone? Hubby loves the Steelers and turns 45 this year. Curious what book it is.

One thing that hubby got in the past that is really simple but a lot of fun was a card. My cousin found it and I think it was all the things that happened the year he was born. Month by month. I think that is one card he put away and kept (I don't know where it is right now though).

some of these things are really good but for some I don't think I know him well enough to know what he would like. Hmm. I have to look these all over again and think.

thanks so much!

If you get a collection of things, you can include a CD by the band "UB40"

Golf balls. If he is picky then Titliest Pro V1.

If he is not picky then get him as many as possible for the right price.
