wdwcelebrations.com is not affiliated with Disney. Anything they are planning on doing is unofficial and can be considered a private event.

Disney has not announced anything official for the 40th.

As pictured in bailybelle's link, there is lots of special merch available.

We were there last month, and got a pair of 40th Anniversary Mouse Ears. They look just like the souvenir pin in the second pic from the above link. And at the Pin Trading station at DTD, we got the full set of Anniversary pins (cheaper than getting them individually).

I haven't seen any info about official celebration events.

Hello everyone.

I've just logged back onto this site for the first time since 2007.

I'm so pleased to see this thread because 'the family' are having a brief two day stop in Orlando April 15th before spending 2 weeks on the gulf coast.

We've booked into the Hyatt at the airport and hopefully will be able to pick upsome 40year memorabilia from the WDW store to add to our collections.

I am so very sorry that I didn't post a report back after all the trouble we had at the AKL back in 2007. That was very wrong of me because everyone on this forum was so helpful & supportive - its probably too late now but all I can say is that Disney responded in an absolutely fabulous manner to my complaint and we returned to spend an awesome 5 day stay at the AKL April 2009.

I'll use a new thread to ask for some advice on other queries. Ta.

Last week we picked up pins & a great puzzle that came in a small tin suitcase!!!! We gave these away to the kids that walk our dog in the afternoon and they loved them.
What we kept was a pin and a Christmas tree ornament that was one out of 1971.
They also had ears, mugs, all kinds of shirts & sweatshirts, picture frames, dishes, mouse pads & just about everything else you'd expect.

We were at WDW in 1971 for our wedding honeymoon, have been there many times since. Are returning this Fall for our 40th Anniversary!

I am counting down the days until I can get my D&B 40th Anniversary Purse. It may be more exciting than the trip!
