The day I had been dreaded for months is here! It's our last day in Disney World this trip.

I cried as I packed our stuff. I don’t want to go home! I want to stay! There is so much I didn't get to see or do!

My silly baby was anxious to go home; sometimes, that kid is too much like his father—they get homesick (fools!). He was eager to get home so he could get his Teeball trophy (the trophy giving ceremony happened while we were away).

We called Bell Services and had them store our stuff. Our flight was at 5:30 p.m.; our Tiffany car back to the airport was due at the Lodge at 2:30, so we had some time. I saved most of my souvenir buying for this last day, figuring I'd do most of my shopping at the World of Disney and use my American Express card for the 15% discount.

I called my sister before we left our room to see what they were up to that day. BIL was supposed to go on another fishing excursion compliments of WDW because he didn't catch anything the first time. Somehow, they slept right through the alarm clock, and the guide never called them. They were miffed because the guy called them three times on the morning of the first excursion. BIL wasn't seriously late when they did wake up (about 15 minutes after he was supposed to meet the boat) and ran down to the marina to see if the guy waited for him, but no such luck. My sister was grousing because she it meant they'd have to pay for the original excursion, which would have been gratis if he didn't agree to try again this morning.

(Note: After coming home, she was contacted by WDW recreation, who agreed not to charge them for the fishing trip.)

I told her that we were heading to DD to shop, so she said that she and BIL wanted to do some shopping too. We agreed to meet at the Lego dragon. We took the bus and again marveled at how long the ride to Downtown takes from the WL, especially since the bus has to go to Fort Wilderness before it continues on to DD.

We found my sister and BIL quickly and headed over to the World of Disney to go some serious credit card damage. The most fun for me this trip is that, for once, I could spend souvenir money on myself since everyone we would buy souvenirs for was on the trip. Hey, everybody, buy your own!

I found great stuff, too. Bought DS a 2002 T-shirt (to go with his 2000 and 1999 shirts) and got myself a beautiful gray T-shirt with a colorful band across the chest which depicts the park icons. I also got the 100 Years video, the Epcot 100 Year CD, and Mickey icon earrings in silver and crystal.

After shopping, we hit the McDonald’s for lunch. DS loved showing his aunt and uncle the sound effect-making soda machine there. While we were eating, a bad thunderstorm came through, and the McD's got packed! It was like a thousand people piled in there all at once. But it cleared quickly and we left to get the bus back to the Lodge.

We hugged and kissed my sister and her hubby and parted at the bus station. See you in New Jersey, you guys! While we were hanging in their room the previous day, I had circled all the attractions (and actually A and B listed them) at Epcot and MGM that I thought they'd enjoy. So they'd be keeping busy after we were gone.

Back at the Lodge, we met up with SIL's family. We had some time before the car would arrive, and SIL's kids had a list of WL hidden Mickey's that they got from the front desk. DH waited with the luggage while the kids and I went off to find some Mickey's. Good thing the kids found me to help them! They didn't find anything on their own, but I was able to pick them off easily.

The same driver who had picked us up when we arrived came to bring us back. I was so sad about leaving, but DS and DH weren't. We did curbside check-in when we got to the airport, and DH was miffed that it wound up costing us $40 in tips just to move our luggage between the WL and there.

I got picked for the random search before boarding. So that I don't turn this report into a political statement, all I will say is that I was very unhappy about that. The flight home was uneventful, and we found our limo driver without too much trouble.

I always cry when it is time to go home! :(

Thank you so much for sharing your reports!
