407# given priority of 1-877 #?

Yesterday I was trying for all our ADRs, plus an Illumination Cruise for our Dec trip. I was using my house phone to call the 1-877 number and my mom was using my cell phone to call to get the Illumination Cruise. We got through about the same time and I got put on hold for Disney Dining. She didn't get the Illumination Cruise, so hung up, then called the 407# for Disney Dining. About 14 minutes later they picked up on her phone, but my house phone was still on hold (on the 1-877#) and had been about 25-30 minutes. I'm just curious though as to why I was still on hold on the 1-877 line, but she was able to get through with the 407# even though she called Disney Dining 12-14 minutes after I did.

Everything worked out though, because not only did I get all the ADRs we wanted, including CRT and PSB, but today I called back and got an Illuminations Cruise for December 10th.

Maybe it's that more people might not want to make the long distance call to 407, so they call the toll free number, making it busier

The toll free number doesn't technically exist. It's a hole in their system, it's actually only a number TA's are supposed to use to call the WDTC, not CRO or Dining. The more it gets posted on the boards, the closer we come to it disapearing - there have already been reports of people who were connected and are refused transfers over to dining when the calls are directed to WDTC. I'd expect it to disapear totally soon - which is why I always call the regular number now, but use my cell phone as it has free long distance. I then make it a confrence call with my home phone, so I can still use the regular handset.
