40% off select nights/resorts in 2007

Lord love a duck.. my how this goes on huh?

I am forced to assume at this point -- that this is working *mightily* in Disney's favor with all the reservations for typically low-traffic weeks coming in..

Seriously -- they could have put a stop to this over 24 hours ago. There is simply no excuse for this kind of continual confusion over 48 hours. None.

Me thinks perhaps t'was their plan all along? :)

You know, I actually thought about that....how "convenient" for them, eh? Honestly makes me wonder about the possibility of them offering free dining this year....

DH always said the marketing team in Disney is "Brilliant." Perhaps this is just another one of their marketing strategies. ;)

As for free dining, we're still on the fence with that one. We took advantage of it, but I've seen and heard that people got similar deals with AAA and discounted room rates. I think it all boils down to the WDW marketing spin and how you choose to spend your money.

I just tried to make a ressie for Dec at the movies and they told me i needed a whole pin code and not just the 3 letters. Oh well, hopefully we will get one in the mail sometime. i'll keep on waiting for some magic pixie dust to fall on us!

I called at lunch and was told I needed a pin code. I just called again and was able to book 3 nights at Pop, 2 adults, with dining, and one day tix for $579.

For what dates?

There is a MYW Package special going on for either a 4-day/3-night stay or a 6-night/7-day stay but it's good only for standard rooms at a Value resort.

I just tried the code some were using as the general public code and was told again that I needed a pin. The CM told me that when they find out that code is not associated with a specific household that the reservation automatically cancels. The confusion continues. Good luck and congrats to everyone who was able to use it.

If there is a General Code, I sure could use it for the Dec dates. I am taking 9 people to Disney.

We just saved almost $1000 on four nights at the GF with a MK view! I told my dad that this was worth a try, and he just called up an asked about "the 40% off offer" and they gave it to him, no questions asked!

I'm really not getting my hopes up... but if it works out for some of us that's great! what a bonus for some it will be!

I called twice yesterday -

First time, I was actually just moving my Spring Break trip back to Memorial Day (Scheduling conflict). I inquired about a code or discount for my dates and he said that there was nothing available or associated with my "household" on the computer. I asked about the new "code" and he told me that it was not available. He then asked if my dates were flexible & I said "no" (like an idiot). (We are going 5/26-6/2 - I did not realize the "code" dates are supposedly 5/28 - 6/3). It also did not occur to me to say that they were possibly flexible - then book 2 ressies (5/26-5/27 then 5/28-6/2).

I called back and seemed to get a very knowledgeable CM this time. She asked where I got the "code" and stated that it should be accompanied by a PIN. She again checked our name in the computer and said that there was nothing associated with our houshold there either. She said that she was unable to help us at this time, but to call back to check on codes from time to time. (We also have APs, so I believe she meant for us to call back to see if any AP discounts become available).

I plan on calling again today (whether it is "right" or not may be debateable), but obviously it is in the computer and they are willing to give the discount. I will post again if I get a different story!

KyDerbyMan - I get the feeling that there are several "offers" out right now - hence ALL the Confusion! 40% is a very big deal to a lot of people (including me!) - if it is available, then it is definitely worth checking into.

These were the dates PM'd to me by a DISer:

My DIL got the 40% off of her 3 packages for the week of Aug. 12th. So again, confusion here. This was her first time booking with WDW, so was she offered this rate as a first time visitors? These threads are addicting to read, I just can't wait how this all works out. Maybe today's announcement will clear the air.

I'm very glad to see that Disney is still booking the code. I really think Disney will honor the reservations. I still believe there will be a free dining promo. I do think that other promos or codes throughout the year may be limitted if rooms fill up now.
The strange this, I am going during Halloween week. You would think that week would be a week not included in the discount. But it is.

I'm going to call Disney today and get a price for WL. I currently have CBR booked. I've never been to CBR. It looks really nice. But from what I've seen here, there were really good prices for WL. If it doesn't work, I'll be more than happy with CBR.

FWIW, deelam, WL would not work for whatever discount I received. AKL worked though. Of course it may be different for your dates??? The CM made it sound like the WL was not part of this deal (I still don't know what special discount/code the CM used for me, but I would assume it is the much debated 3 letter code).

Try WL again. I just cancelled our trip to WL with woodsview last night. So that room should have gone back into inventory.

Dec. 10-14! We are staying at AKL for about $138/night, pool view w/bunk beds.

After reading this, I called this morning to change my resort. The price I got was $150 + tax for the pool view with bunks. For a room only reservation the price would have been $1181.25, which comes to $168.75 per night, including tax. I choose the package instead with a price of $2563.08. The price for the room portion then works out slightly higher, at $169.41. Either way, it is a tremendous savings! We get a queen bed and the kids each get their own bunk, so that should make sleeping in one room for a week a little more tolerable. We always stay offsite in a 2 bdrm condo, so believe it or not, staying at a deluxe resort is step down for us. The only reason I am considering it is because we may never get a chance to stay at a deluxe for this price again, and I want to try the dining plan.

They seem to have lots of room still available at the discount; I currently have 2 reservations for consecutive weeks (one for 6 days and one for the following 7 days), AND since I discovered I had this PIN Code in the mail on Sunday, I believe I have called 5 TIMES to change resorts, and have been able to get what I requested each time. I will be cancelling one of the reservations this weekend, once my husband comes home and we can discuss travel dates (he's out of town).

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, or maybe I missed it, but has anyone seen the Disney ad on Yahoo! saying there is a "Big announcement" today?
Maybe making the code available to all?? Just a thought.
