Granted I am more a word person than a number person but I am thinking that my Disney Visa package is as good or better than the 40% off with FD.

Granted this is only a 'deal' because we had a trip planned anyway and were planning on buying the DP and were in need of passes as we do not have an AP this year.

When are you going? There is almost always a way to get some type of discount.

We're going Nov. 4th. We were tickled to get the free dining plan after we had already booked the dining plan. So that in itself was a great surprise. But I certainly wouldn't turn down a discount on our room to boot! We've booked a Savanah view room at AKL which doesn't come cheap. But we LOVED the idea of the kids getting to watch the animals from our room balcony while we eat breakfast every morning!

(my own cliff notes version of the thread) OP thought a podcast hinted @ new announcement re a new deal. Many DISers decided to hang around jik it was true (yes, me included).

it didn't pan out, i wasted nothing but some idle time and found the general tone of the thread entertaining @ least. No harm, no foul for me, sometimes u have to sift thru a lot of chafe to get to the wheat kwim?

We used the military discount for BWI which was the reason we are staying there. Dad joked with with them saying feel free to upgrade us ..for free. Got a chuckle out of the girl. But nothing like that ever happens
