Hi,

We are taking our first cruise since having our son and it will be our first Disney cruise. Just curious how parents have handled this situation in the past. Our son is self sufficient going to the bathroom at home climbing up on his potty stool and also using a potty seat, and I was curious how tall the toilets are and if they were kid friendly height. I don't want to have to bring a stool and I certainly don't want to have to help him go to the bathroom all the time. He is average height for his age.

How have you handled this situation in the past? Did you bring a folding stool and/or a potty seat for the toilet? Or did you just deal with helping the child each time?

We are lucky enough to be able to drive to port so packing it is not really an issue if it will make a difference.

Thanks!

Our 4 year old had no problems in the kids club or cabins. When she was 3, we did have to bring her potty seat with us and help her on and off toilet in the cabin.

We were on the Wonder in May and the only place I noticed "kid sized" potties were in the kid's club. Our SR toilet was average height as were the public restrooms. There were steps at some of the sinks, like outside of Beach Blanket Buffet...but not all of them. And the thing I noticed the most, not all restrooms had seat covers so we had to lay strips of toilet paper down (outside of Animators Palate). That was all kinds of fun when we were in a hurry!

I wold like to know more about this as well, esp. For the fantasy if possible? My daughter is 3 and completely self sufficient in the potty. In the public rooms we will go with her, but if she can get on the potty alone she will be happy. Same for the SR, going at night without us. She has started telling us to "step out" lol
The issue is, she is short! Like 35" only. She can wiggle onto some potties on her own, but the ones that are taller for handicapped reasons, she has trouble. Is there really shorter potties in public areas? We can bring a stool for the SR but I can't see us carrying one all the time...

The regular toilets are not tall in the public areas, as well as in the staterooms. Neither of the kids had an issue at 3 and 4. They liked the fact that the hole in the seat is smaller than at home. We didn't use their toilet seat on the ship because of that. The worst part was the loud flush. We had them step out of the bathroom so it didn't scare them our first cruise.
