4$ surcharge at Universal for uber

I hope you are right. I mean, if/when the agreement is up, do you think they might do it then?

heaven who knows. I'm not going to think the worse though, why do that?
If I constantly thought the worse of everything Disney did I'd never go, that's for sure.

We took Uber last week after HHN, but we opted to walk over to Hard Rock Hotel and grab the Uber from there. We thought it would be easier and less busy to find our car, since so many people were exiting Universal at the same time. But by doing this, we avoided the surcharge and the new pickup area as well. Pretty quick walk from Universal, probably just as far as walking to the roof of the garage where the pick up area is.

One thing we did notice is that for as many people as were leaving on Halloween night after HHN, Uber AND Lyft availability wasn't as high as I thought it would be. We caught surge pricing and there was an estimated 15 minute wait for one before we ordered it. This was around 11:30pm.

We have used Uber a little at Disney but if we go and fly in next summer we will be using it a lot. But we will most likely be staying at WBC and doing a water park vacation. I will just keep an eye on this situation and will budget further if need be by then.

There are stairs or an elevator on the first floor right below the lobby. Basically when you get to the main entrance on the 1st floor, off that courtyard, just keep going to the front side of the building. Warning, it's a looooong staircase. We opt for the elevator.

When you're walking the path from City Walk and you come to HRH's water taxi launch, the Woodstock Lawn courtyard is directly across from it. Follow the path along the lawn to the right. Stay to the right and you'll come upon a sidewalk that takes you past the kids' club. That will bring you to the long staircase AngiTN mentions - we also opt for the elevator. lol! The stairs and elevator take you to the far end of the main entrance sidewalk, which is right where you'd catch the Uber.
