I have 2 Kids, boy 14, girl 10. They each think the other has cooties and refuse to share a bed (which is fine, because they're older). Usually what I do is buy a half dozen pool air mattresses a year and keep them in the car for hotels and visiting relatives. I'm happy to do that with the kids this year (bring a sleeping bag and put one of them on the air mattress) but I was wondering if it might be better to get a twin cot and put real bedding on it so someone doesn't feel left out.

Is there a problem with that size/policy wise? would it be better to use one cot in a double room, or put them both on cots in a king room?

Anybody else have a case of cooties?

I don't know what the rest of your family consists of, but going with an assumption... can your son and your husband share one bed, and you and your daughter share the other bed?

I don't think disney will let you book 4 people into a king bed room. I would proably stick with the air mattress, as you can move it out of your way easier. I think the cot would take up too much space if you left it out all of the time. An air mattress you can just lean up agains the wall.

I took DD 16, DS 14 & DD's boyfriend last Easter, stayed at Pop. We brought our twin size Aero bed. One boy had the bed the other used the Aero bed. Boys are weird about sleeping on a bed with another boy. I called housekeeping, they brought us extra sheets, pillows & blanket. There was plenty of room even at Pop for the Aero bed.
When I travel with kids and DH, the "boys" share a bed and "girls" share a bed, this is another option.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info about POP. I will look at the floorplan between POP and POFQ and see if it looks like I could fit a twin cot.

When I was a kid, my parents had a good idea for cots - they bought those lounge folding chairs that had the plastic tubing wrapped around them. I saw some at wal-mart the other day. That would be even better than an air mattress because it would fit in the room.

And I'd rather share my bed with 18 Weimaraners than sleep with my kids - they do the Hustle all night it seems. I've been punched in the eye, kicked off the bed, had all the covers stolen...

Maybe I'll sleep on the cot. :) hahaah

Have to say the my hubby does get the worst of the deal since DS, ends up sideways on the bed. LOL
Just ask housekeeping for extra bedding they were great about it.
We had a great corner room at POFQ, there was plenty of room for a cot if you moved the small table.

Like maxiesmom said, king bed rooms are limited to two people plus one child under the age of three in the pack and play. DVC villas have a king bed in the master bedroom, but there are additional sleeping spaces in the villa. So they sleep 4, 8 or 12 persons depending on the size of the villa.

thanks everyone. I think we will be fine with an air mattress or cot in the room we already have reserved.

Have you thought about getting a room with a trundle bed at POR in Alligator Bayou? Then each kiddo would have their own bed and you and husband would share one double bed.
