What do I do with 4 points? We will not be going back until 2015 & I hate to waste anything!

I am wondering the same thing. I just bought resale and have 3 points that will expire on Nov. 30. We have a Dec. Use year. I know in the future I can bank extra points but these points weren't bankable...think they had been borrowed by prior owners.

so long as you have not banked them, you can transfer them to another DVC owner.

that's really your only option.

I have 11 points as well and they need to be banked soon. Someone suggested renting the points but i'venever done that. Can banked points be rented or should they be rented before the banking deadline?

one transfer in, one out, per use year. you may get lucky, but i doubt there are very many owners willing to give up their one transfer for just 4 points.

another option is offering points to rent for a single night, and combine the expiring points with points from your 02/15 UY.

Only one in or out each UY. And they cannot be banked or borrowed.

Why wouldn't you just bank them? I would never transfer or rent points that I could possibly use some day. You can use those up first next year and then bank any remaining forward. You may want a bigger unit some day, or to stay for longer. I say hold on to them.

The OP said she was not returning until 2015. So even if the points are bankable they are still orphaned points. And if they are banked they are not transferable. The OP might want to see if anyone will go for a transfer for such a small number of points and then bank them last minute.

Yes, but I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to someone else who said they had 11 points and were nearing their banking deadline.

We had 1 point last year that we couldn't use so we just gave it away.It helped someone out ,and i was glad to do it. If i had 4 points that's what i would do if i was the OP.
