4 paper plates?

What we do is bring a set of plastic/melamine dishes with us (bowls and small plates) and just wash them after use. The paper bowls are tiny and awkward to use IMO. And only having 4 plates/bowls every 4 days would never work for us either. We can use paper towels as a plate for a sandwich, but we prefer plates for other things. The flimsy paper plates aren't my ideal either. I also don't really like the plastic individual wrapped silverware for wash and reuse, so we bring our own metal silverware. Nothing expensive, all of it is just cheap stuff that if it gets lost no big deal. This time of year there is usually summer type dishes for picnics or outdoor use on clearance, so it is a great time to get them. When I pack I just pack the bowls full of stuff, and then space is not really wasted in our bags. I can easily wash them all upon arrival and keep them washed the whole trip without sacrificing packing space. For us it is just a more pleasant eating experience.

Pick up the phone. Touch the button for Housekeeping. Ask for more plates. It IS that simple. (And yes, they are free). You do not need to bring or buy your own.

As PP said just ask for more or take them from the QS and bring them back to your room.

It should be 4 plates, bowls, sets of plastic utensils, glasses and mugs. They will typically bring you more and if asked, will usually bring you glassware where you can cook in the microwave. Marriott, for a similar studio setup, has real plates, silverware, and microwave cooking options in the villas.

We have too. I don't remember only getting four of each. And housekeeping will deliver more anytime you request them.

We have had more and less.....and no plastic ware. Had to call to get some.....or go to food area and get more.
I think it depends on what was left.
We also have had big stacks of them

I don't know if I would want to eat off of someone else's left over paper plates. We also wash all of the kitchen stuff that we intend to use when staying in a 1 bedroom. That started after finding dirty plates in the cupboard.

I guess I assumed that, when booking a DVC suite, you would have real dishes, real glasses, real silverware, etc. When I stay in comparable hotels of any other chain (which I do often for business), this is the set-up. Without ever having stayed in a larger DVC suite, is there a dishwasher in the kitchen? If not, I guess it would make more sense to have disposable stuff. Are there pots and pans to make meals? Or is the assumption that you're only having quick meals in the room?

They use to have real dishes way back when we first joined (1993). They were removed when some health issues arose. With out dish washer they were not getting sanitized, all real dishes, glasses and cups were removed from all studios. Later they added back glasses and coffee cups.

The 1 bedroom and larger rooms have a full kitchen stocked with dishes, pots and pans, full size fridge, and yes - a dishwasher.

The studios have real glasses and mugs, but disposable plates, bowls, and cutlery. There's a mini fridge, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, and a sink.

The studios had the dishes removed claiming health concerns, IMO they wanted to reduce the housekeeper workload because they added back drink ware.
1 bedroom and larger have real dishes, pots and pans, full kitchen and a dishwasher, washer and dryer.
