Ok, so I've never:
1) Gone for less than 7 nights
2) Embarked in Miami
What do I need to know? What is the Disney transfer timeframe from the airport? Is there a Pirate Night? Tell me everything!!!

I've cruised out of Miami many times! It's very easy! I love Miami!

The Port isn't anything special, but it has great views of the city, and I love the view Port side as we head on out to the beautiful Ocean!

I've always gotten a cab from the ship to the airport, and not used Disney transportation, but the cab ride was appx 15-20mins.

Yes, their is a Pirate night! It will depend on the itinerary, but it's usually the 2nd night, but again will depend if you have a sea day or not, and if it's in the beginning or end. Don't forget about the Pirate night buffet! In the 13 cruises I've done, I've missed it everytime lol..(I always forget)

Get a spot on the Starboard side, Deck 10 for the fireworks. The Pirate show is neat, but I've seen it so many times that I usually just watch the fireworks.

They've changed the music to the fireworks, and I much preferred the old version, but it's still awesome!

If you have any questions, fire away! The Magic is my fav fav ship! I was just on her this past March!

Enjoy your cruise! :)

I agree that boarding in Miami is very easy, you're not far from the airport at all. Disney does do transportation, if I recall correctly it was $20 a person, you can get a cab for a flat rate of $27 plus tip.

The port is relatively industrial, and Disney's terminal is not as nice as the one at Canaveral, it's also not as big. But, boarding is efficient there, and as the Magic is smaller it doesn't take as long.

Sailing out of the port of Miami is really interesting, because the port is so much larger that there's a lot to see, also the views of Miami skyline are beautiful. Sometimes you can see the float planes landing and taking off in the channel.

The 4 night out of Miami is one of my favorite cruises, I always enjoy stopping at Key West.
