i'll be about 4 months pregnant when we are at DL at the end of May this year. what rides should i NOT be riding? off the top of my head, i'm thinking:

DL:
space mountain
splash mountain
indiana jones
big thunder mountain railroad
matterhorn
gadget's go coaster

CA:
california screamin'

anything else i should be avoiding?

also, for those pregnant mamas who have been to DL, any advice? maybe like going to the ladies room before standing in a long line?! hehe :)

I have been to DL many times pregnant. I have always enjoyed myself. I would avoid the teacups and TOT also. Shopping for baby clothes is always fun. I would make sure you drink enough water, and try to rest your feet and ankles when others are riding the things you cannot. This will help with the extra energy you will need. Just listen to your body and if it is sending you signals to rest, please do.
Most importantly, Congratulations!

I'll be about 7 months when we go at the end of April so I was also trying to find out what the less obvious rides are that I should be avoiding. I thought maybe they would have an official list on the DLR website but there wasn't one. I was able to search on the DLR website for "expectant mothers" (since that's how they word their warning) and so by doing that i found their rides that have the warning not to ride. The 2 less obvious ones that I remember are Autopia and the Tuck and Roll bumper cars in Bug's Land.

I don't have a lot of experience with being preggo at DLR but I do have experience going to the first aid station for my son who has some medical issues so my advice would be don't hesitate to go to the first aid station if you need to. They are great there and they have cots you can rest on for a bit if you're feeling like you're pushing yourself too hard and need to lay down. They also have bathrooms in there (no wait!) so if it was an "emergency" they might let you use their bathroom given your situation.

Hope that helps!

I forgot about Autopia. Actually, they suggest that you don't even wait in line with others because of the fumes.

I think others depend on how you are feeling and waiting in the longer lines...TSMM was a long line for me, granted I was super barfy :)!!!

Also, probably, if you have to go on the sun wheel, do the stationary cars, prob no swings.

We spent a lot of time on HM, POTC, Train, Buzz, etc. It was still fun, but I sure did miss the bigger rides :)!!

Congrats and enjoy

I would say for sure avoid anything with a minimum height.

Yes, that is the general recommendation. Anything that requires you to be a certain height should be avoided, and when you visit the ride descriptions on Disneyland.com, anything with a height requirement has a warning that pregnant women should not ride.

I did not know you were pg!! Congrats!!!! :)

OP just avoid anything with a height requirement, anything that is jerky or moves fast (IMO the teacups are probably fine, as long as you don't spin your cup in addition to the spinning already going on :) ). Enjoy shopping for baby stuff at DL! :)

I would say yes...except maybe Soarin'.

I was pukey when I was pregnant. Please don't puke on the people below you on Soarin' :rotfl2:

Oh yeah, and Flik's Flyers. I'm really pukey in general and even being not pregnant, Flik's made me want to uh, well you know. I think because it's built for kids it spins really tightly so you're just going in circles and circles and circles.

Thanks Pixie! :goodvibes Yeah, I didn't really announce it here on the boards, lol. We have a DD coming in June and so far she seems healthy with no major issues that have been detected so far (with DS we found out about his abdominal wall defect during the ultrasound). We announced it to my parents and sister (pinkbudgie) and her family at DL last november when we were there for my birthday. We gave them all "We're Celebrating" buttons and on the back we had put a sticker saying "baby coming June 2011".

lilpooh108, good point about Flik's Fliers! It always makes me feel a little dizzy so maybe i'll skip it this time.

I went last year when 4 months pregnant. It was fun but I did miss the biggies. The no expectant mothers warning is listed on the park maps. I was feeling good, so I went against some of the advise, I rode Splash Mountain, because I figured it didn't have seat belts. i was fine, but once was more than enough because I worried the whole time.

It is getting you ready for kids, because you get to ride the same things you will ride when you have a toddler!pirate:

Have fun.

thanks, everyone, for all the advice! i am sad that i should avoid autopia. the last time we were at DL in 2009, my soon-to-be 2 year-old wasn't able to really drive, and i was hoping to go with her again so that she can actually "drive" this time.

does anyone know if gadget's go coaster has a rider swap line? maybe DH can go with DD1, then go with DD2 without having to stand in line again.

i am kinda worried about the TSMM line, too. i love that ride...i just hope i can wait 30-45 mins in line.

congratulations, lavenderpeach!

I don't know if you have older kids... but dumbo was a near-miss in the barf factory with my older one at the switch when I was preggo. Not obvious, but those circles plus jerky motions up and down... ugh!

I'ld probably avoid Grizly River, too. It can be a bit jerky.

comfy shoes are a deffinate must. My prego feet were not happy with me after touring all day in converse knock offs.
