4 months out and NO concierge available at the Polynesian...

We are booked in a garden view room at the Polynesian for 5 nights, July 5th through July 10th. There are NO concierge rooms available except for the "Princess suite" which I do not want.

I've called 3 times today to see if anything has opened up in the concierge building but so far, nothing. A couple of the CMs that I spoke to seemed very surprised to see that nothing was available.

Now I'm wondering if it's because of it being 4th of July week, or is this normal because it's the summer....?

Have any of you ever tried to get into the concierge building but not able to, or eventually able to by calling back? The CM told me there is no "waiting list" to be put on, that all I can do is keep calling back. So...I will keep calling back Fortunately we have a flat rate for long distance. LOL

So I am looking for some encouragement! Does anyone have some to give? I'd really love to get into the Hawaii building for our trip

I'd bet if you keep calling something will open up. Be persistent. Call first thing in the morning. Try looking at individual days instead of all the days together, then you can add more as they become available. Good luck and PD!

I thought you had the WL concierge booked for this time? That would be a shame if you couldn't get something at the Poly. I did have a similar experience with the GF last year. They told me they had no rooms available in the main building. Finally, with less than a month to go, our TA was finally able to get us in.

I took a look at the Disney website and you might be exactly right by thinking about 4th of July. If you plug in the dates for the following week, there is concierge availability at the Poly. I would definitely try calling them everyday and checking on it. Peoples plans do change. The main building at the GF has rooms availalbe for the week your looking at. Don't know if that would be an option for you.

Polynesian concierge has a very loyal following. I know from our own experiences there are always at least two other families who travel the same week as ours every year we've been there. From our conversations with lounge CMs, this is more the rule than you would think--families tend to return the same week or more each year. I could only imagine that Independence Day would be a big week for return visitors!

That said, the majority of folks are not regular visitors. Further, as you've seen with the code frenzy of late, many have booked and will change reservations if they aren't able to score a code. I would check daily AND be more persistent from mid-June until your dates. If you have no luck, check with the front desk staff on check-in day (last resort, obviously). I also agree with the previous poster--try moving your check-in day by day or two either way--you may be surprised. Since the 4th is on Monday, maybe a few stragglers are hanging in until Tuesdy or Wednesday. Conversely, perhaps many people are checking in on Sunday so Saturday would be open the door for an Independence Day visit.

I feel fairly confident something will open up if you are persistent! Good Luck!

Tammi you are right, we had been booked at the Wilderness Lodge concierge but that was when only DH and I were going, now we've had a change in plans due to all the snow days we've had up here which caused us to have to cancel the cruise we were going on in June. (We decided the kids just couldn't miss 7 days of school). Now we're bringing the kids with us and we've added on a few more nights to the trip, and we want to stay at the Polynesian so we'll have more space in the room and because both of the boys asked to stay at the Polynesian

Tess some of the CMs that I've spoken to did try and play around with the dates but they found nothing in concierge for anywhere around our dates. I've already booked the airfare, so our dates aren't really flexible at this point. I booked the resort first, then the airfare. I knew from the start that there was no concierge availability, and we'll be fine in a regular gardenview room if nothing opens up, but I will keep trying and hoping that a concierge room opens Our first priority was the resort, concierge is second, which is why I'm not trying for a different resort's concierge. We had promised the kids we'd stay at the Polynesian on our next family trip, and this is our next family trip.

P.S. Does it bug anyone else that every time you call CRO you have to give them your name, rank, and serial number before they check availability?!?!? LOL I realize they have to follow procedure but it does take a while for some of them to enter all of it...

Just keep calling back!!

I couldn't get reservations for my parents in the concierge during their stay so i just booked them a regular room, but they kept calling back, and checked with the desk when they got down there. They ended up sleeping one night in the regular rooms, then moved to the concierge for the rest of their stay.

Never hurts to keep trying.

Keep calling! I was able to book Poly LVC just one week before the July 4th weekend 4 years ago (it was on a Tuesday and we stayed Fri-Tues). Maybe the fact that July 4th is on a Monday this year and that's why it's booked up...but I'd keep calling. Someone is bound to cancel!

... and remember that 45 days out is when packages must be paid up or cancelled, so be sure to be persistent especially around that time. Good luck!

I feel very confident for you that something will open up. No new information to add, just want you to know that more people have much the same feelings. Poly concierge lagoon view is the best.

Also keep checking the website - I was able to get it over Halloween when I was having trouble via the phone by checking the website constantly...of course it came up when I had about one minute before I needed to pick up Chloe - but I took the time and got it!

I did and finally got poly gv concierge. They kept telling me nothing was available and then the last time I called, the cm put me on hold for about 3 minutes and came back and said yes they would have something available.

but my dates are June 16-19 so I guess that made the difference.
Buti I still have not received the confirmation letter yet. Might call them today and just plop first night on my visa card

I slept in late and only just called them now (about 10:20am) and still nothing at all available in concierge.

During the week I am always up before 7am so I'm going to try calling them right at 7am on those days, in addition to calling several times throughout the day. One of the CMs told me that when someone makes a cancellation their room immediately gets put back into circulation and is available on the computer, and another CM told me that they weren't sure if it took until the next day, so I figure it can't hurt to keep trying. It doesn't cost me anything because we have unlimited long distance.
