I guess my favorite show at DHS would be the Little Mermaid one, but I'm sure as soon as I see Beauty and the Beast, that will replace the Little Mermaid!

DH, DDs and I all really enjoyed Sci-Fi... the girls were a bit bummed last year when we didn't go back (we had lunch at 50sPTC instead, as I wanted to try something different) I've already been notified by DD10 that on our next trip we are eating at Sci Fi, not 50sPTC!

And Madalyn just requested that we go back to eat at the Prime Time instead of Sci Fi!

As I mentioned, Mom will be celebrating her 60th birthday while on our trip (in fact, her actual birthday is the Sunday she, Heather, and Helen will arrive in Orlando)

During the initial planning of our trip, the three of us brainstormed for ideas as how we could celebrate Mom's birthday... I wanted to be able to do something for her each day. At first we came up with having fresh flowers in the condo when we check in, treating Mom to a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake from Starring Rolls, and possibly ordering a birthday cake to be served during our dinner at Boma.

Heather and I had a lengthy phone conversation yesterday, and we finalized all the surprises for Mom! Here's what we have planned:

Sunday: bouquet of flowers

Monday: autograph book - we'll give this to Mom before we head to Epcot for the day... not only will we get character autographs, but anyone who wishes Mom a "Happy Birthday!" we'll ask them to sign her book!

Tuesday: cupcake from Starring Rolls while at Hollywood Studios

Wednesday: Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party - this is going to be so much fun!

Thursday: the biggest surprise yet, tickets for Mom and Helen to see La Nouba at Downtown Disney!


It was Heather's idea to get the tickets... Mom has been to another Cirque du Soleil and LOVED it, so we knew this would be something Mom would really enjoy. And Helen's birthday is just before our trip, so Heather wanted to surprise her, as well. However... the cheapest tickets are still $75 eek So if we paid for Mom, Helen, and ourselves, we'd be shelling out $150+ each. And, unfortunately, that just wasn't in the budget for either of us. So we decided we'll let Mom and Helen go to the show and enjoy themselves, and Heather and I will entertain ourselves at DTD.

We can't wait to reveal all these surprises... especially the Dessert Party and La Nouba tickets!

Thanks! Mom knows we have one surprise planned for her... I figure when we go to the Dessert Party, she'll assume it's the one surprise that she knows is coming. Then the next night when we give her the La Nouba tickets... that's going to blow her mind!

This summer has been so very HOT and HUMID... and I know it will be HOT and HUMID during my trip!

On a hot day at Animal Kingdom, a great way to cool off is a ride on Kali River Rapids:

Starting on the right and going left is my DH, DNephew, DD8, DSIL, DBIL, DD10 (DNiece is there, too... she's between DBIL and DD10)​
