4 Hot Mamas take on the World 9/2011! *UPDATE 8/31* I'm leaving TODAY!!!

I'm glad you have decided to get a haircut before your trip. I'm looking forward to getting mine done but think it will still be a bit long and get very frizzy in the heat, lol!

Love the new shirts you have made. Yay on doing some pin trading (am staying away from it!) and getting the game. That sure will be great for the car journey :thumbsup2

Hi!! I am joining in on your report! I am going to have to check out my local hallmark store to see if we have a travel game like that, thats awesome!! And the shirts yall made are so cute!

For the last few years I've kept my hair rather short... but I've been trying to grow it out (the longest I've had it is just past my shoulders) It's now just brushing the tops of my shoulders, but still too short to do anything with. I can get it back into a ponytail, but a very small one!

Why are you staying away from pin trading?

:welcome:, Shannon! Hope you find the trivia game... it looks like it will be fun!

Now I'm off to check out your PTR...

Just a miscellaneous update!

Kat, Angie, and I have decided to do pin trading on our trip... we've gotten our lanyards and some pins to get started!

And check out the game I found at my local Hallmark store:

This will be great for in the car!

Those pins are awesome! What is the red and black one that looked like a bunny in a cirle? I ask because I have one of the "do not stand on the ride" pins as well, and it looks like it might be from the same series.:goodvibes

I've not had my hair short since I was very young. I'm always tempted but think I would miss it being long too much :confused3

Lol I think I will become addictive and spend lots of money on them! Also I become quite attached with things so think I would have a hard time giving them away. We shall see though as I have been looking at some every time we visit our local Disney store. You never know - I may become hooked! :rolleyes1

Are you talking about the one to the right of the Mickey thumbs-up? It's a Mickey ears hat!:earboy2:

If it were up to my DH, my hair would be long! I grew it out for our wedding (so I could have an up-do)... about a week later I went and chopped it off, LOL! Over the years I've let it grow, then I cut it... let it grow, then I cut it... let it grow, then I cut it...

I just think it's easier to manage when it's shorter. Not to mention cooler during the hot summer!

Ahhh, I see your point about the pins. My DDs wanted to pin trade on our last trip. I got them started, and then they spent just about all of their spending money on pins! And the ones they bought were ones they didn't want to trade away!

Here's another photo from our '07 trip:

My DDs with Ron Stoppable and Kim Possible, at DHS

At the time, DH had no idea who these two characters were! He was all, "We haven't even met Mickey yet, we keep seeing these oddball characters!" :lmao:

What's been the most not-so-ordinary character you've met?

Great photo! :thumbsup2 I also didn't recognise the characters but am sure my little sister would have done!

Will let you know my most not-so-ordinary character when we return from our trip :goodvibes

I haven't really been able to meet anyone out of the ordinary...I need to be on the lookout for someone different this year!

Hi Shannon! :wave2: I just got caught up on your PTR. It sounds like an amazing trip!! What's better than a girls trip? TWO girls trips, back to back, in WDW!! :cloud9:
I hope your Mom has an amazing 60th birthday!! :goodvibes

Aww, cute picture, although I'd have no idea who they were if I ran into them!

I guess my rare characters would be the Seven Dwarfs, I met them last year at the Christmas Party, and it was awesome! I can't wait to hopefully see them again at MNSSHP! :thumbsup2

Meeko! (Obviously, this was years ago...) I dragged my cousin all around the MK just got get a picture of him!:goodvibes

Those are good ones! I'd like to see Thumper... think he's at AK, but I'm not sure!

Cute shirts! Great find on the Mickey travel game, will have to see if I can find that.

Love the t-shirts you made:thumbsup2
I haven't started packing yet, and I'm day 50 today! I figure I better finish my shopping before I start packing!
That travel Disney game looks cool, I think I'll take a look and see if we have something like that around here.

We haven't seen any out of the ordinary characters, but the one character that we did see that we weren't expecting to see was Max. We had no idea he was in the parks (of course, I wasn't a frequent visitor of the disboards and all the great information sites before our last trip;) :rotfl:

If you can't find the game at your Hallmark store, I also found it on Amazon (I don't think I can post a link to it on the boards... just search for "hallmark kids disney" on Amazon.com and it should pop up!)

With just about 2 weeks left before Kat and Angie begin their part of our Girls Only trip, I feel (fairly) confident about this update... I don't think Kat will make any changes this late in the game (but then again, she does love to play around with our plans!)

If you recall, our initial ADRs were for dinner at Rose & Crown on Thursday, dinner at Teppan Edo on Friday, and lunch at 50sPTC on Saturday. Then, Kat changed our Friday dinner to 'Ohana.

Unless something changes between now and 8/31, here are our new plans:

Wednesday 8/31
My flight is scheduled to land at MCO at 9:37 p.m. Hopefully it will be on time and I can make my way to the Magical Express busses easily! I'm actually sending my suitcase with Angie when she leaves the week before, this way I don't have to worry about checking my bag, or lugging a carryon around. I'm hoping to be at Pop by 11:00, but I have no idea if that's a good estimate or not. This will be my first experience with ME, so I don't know if there will be long lines, or how long I'll have to wait for a bus (but I'm hoping not, as I'm flying in late at night and mid-week)

Thursday 9/1
We'll hit MK for morning EMH, then hop to Epcot sometime in the afternoon/evening, before making our way over to the Beach Club for dinner at Cape May Clam Bake

Friday 9/2
Arrive at HS for rope drop, and stay until it's time to head to the Poly for dinner at 'Ohana

Saturday 9/3
Arrive at AK for rope drop, then hop to Epcot for the rest of the day, including dinner at R&C

I'm really excited about our dinner plans! I've never been to any of these restaurants, so it will be great to try new places. And getting the chance to see the BC and Poly resorts is a big plus!

Our lunch plans will be just wherever and whenever we get hungry.

As for actual itineraries and plans for what rides/attractions to do at each park... I don't think we have any! Shocking, I know! But, by the time I arrive on Wednesday night, Angie and Kat will have already been to each park at least once. So I'm pretty sure the two of them will have hit all the "big rides" before I get there. And since I'll have Part 2 of my trip coming later, I'm not that worried about missing anything. The only rides I do know we want to do are EE and TSM... and hopefully we'll get to ride multiple times!
