Can't wait to hear the plans! Sounds exciting!! :yay:

Now, really...would you call it a slight change??

I am already over the moon! ;)

So...go ahead and spill!

Time to reveal my big news!

Well, sort of.

I don't have time to go into all the details right now, but here's the gist of the story:

I have 2 very, very, very good friends going to WDW for a "girls only" trip in August. August 26th to September 4th, to be exact.

The day Helen, Heather, Mom, and I are traveling down to Orlando? September 4th. Grrrr, the day they check out and leave for home is the day we leave home and check in to our condo! I couldn't tell you how happy I was for my friends to go on their trip, but how bummed I was that we wouldn't be at The World together.

But we will, now! I'm flying down on Wednesday evening (Aug 31st) so I can spend the last few days of their trip with them!!! :woohoo:

The logistics haven't been worked out yet, but somehow I will meet up with my gang on Sunday once they get to Orlando.

So now I get the "best of both worlds" (as Hannah Montana would say, LOL)

I CANNOT WAIT TO GO ON BOTH OF THESE TRIPS!!! AUGUST 31st WON'T GET HERE SOON ENOUGH!!!

(sorry for all the shouty caps, but I am soooooo excited!!! )

:woohoo: That's so exciting!!!! I'm so happy for you:cheer2:

My flight will (hopefully) be getting ready to land at that time!

Here's a photo from my family's 2007 trip...

During this trip, DH and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, and I wanted to do something special to surprise him. Our last ADR was for dinner at Chef Mickey's and I decided to order a cake for the two of us:

Just your basic chocolate cake, but I was able to have it personalized; it was inscribed "10 years of magic"!

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day!

I'm starting to make our park itineraries (for Part II of my "girls only" trip, with Mom, Heather, and Helen)... I'm working on Day 1 and have already hit a snag! I'm not sure what to do, and I haven't yet talked this over with the others, but here is my dilemma:

As of now, we have an ADR for lunch at WCC on our first day. The plan is to leave Epcot and get over to the WL one of two ways... either drive ourselves, or use WDW transportation. If we drive ourselves, I think this will be quicker. However, since we plan on being there for park opening, I'd hate to get a good parking space, only to lose it when we leave the park for lunch. While using WDW transportation would enable us to keep our parking space, I think it will take longer this way.

We could take the resort bus to WL... or we could take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC, then either the monorail or ferry to MK, then the water taxi to WL. Taking the monorail/ferry/water taxi does sound like a hassle, but this is exactly how my family made our way to WCC when we dined there last year, and it wasn't so bad. Riding the monorail and ferry was fun. I think the longest wait was for the water taxi to WL.

So to make a long story short (too late, I know!) here is my actual dilemma: should we keep our ADR at WCC? Or try for one at a TS restaurant inside Epcot (assuming I can find somewhere that has an ADR available)? :confused3

When factoring in traveling to WL, eating, and then getting back to Epcot, I'm thinking a lunch at WCC will take at least a 3-hour chunk out of our day. Since we'll only have one day to tour Epcot, I'm not sure if taking that long for lunch is a good idea.

On the other hand, there should be low crowds (at least that's what the crowd calendars are predicting) and there are a few attractions we plan to skip... so I don't think we should have any problems getting to see and do all that we'd like to.

AGH! What to do? Anyone have any thoughts/advice/opinions?

While I do love WCC, I would vote to switch it to a TS at Epcot. With only 4 days in the parks - and a complete newbie - I would plan to stay at Epcot.

And here is a thought - what about not doing a TS at all - but snacking around the world? You could get snacks - or even a counter service meal - that all of you split - that way you can sample your way through all the countries. The girls and I did this over Spring break - I think it was the favorite part of the day for the girls!

We had: nachos and churros in Mexico, some sort of chocolate cake in Norway, pot stickers in China, a pretzel in Germany (though I wish we had gotten something in the caramel store!), udon noodles and sushi in Japan (we had planned to get a Kaki Gori - but were getting full already!), a Shawarma platter in Morocco (lamb, couscous, humus), pastries in France - and by then we were about to burst - so we totally skipped a funnel cake in the US and fish n chips in England.

It is certainly not a money saver (I think we spent about $90 doing this!) - but it's a great way to try most everything!

Oh...and Katie had a cannoli in Italy. Madalyn and I were too full at the moment. But I do wish I had tried a bite :)

I am full just thinking about all that we ate that day!

Umm, it will take awhile to get there. What about finding an ADR at one of the resorts if you don't want to stay at Epcot, maybe on the Boardwalk or Monorail, saves the additional boat trip to WL.

I think I would also try for an ADR in Epcot, or just do the F&W and/or a counter service to avoid losing that much time on your only day at Epcot. However, that being said, Epcot is my favorite park and when we did a full day there on our last trip is wasn't enough, and I've never eaten at WCC so I don't know what I'd be missing.
