4 Hot Mamas take on the World 9/2011! *UPDATE 8/31* I'm leaving TODAY!!!

Love that photo of the castle:thumbsup2
My kids really enjoyed Mickey and Minnie's houses, but they loved Goofy's Branstormer and are really sad that they'll miss that this trip. Hopefully we'll get them back someday and they'll be able to ride the new one :)

Cool photo though have to agree that I want them to complete the expansion as well so I can start reading reviews and plan to visit again! :lmao:

The ferry ride looks like a fun way to get to MK - may have to try it instead of the monorail during our trip.

I just skimmed over it all; i'm sure i missed somethings.

I love your tigger photo! we would be very upset if Eeyore wasn't at CP too.

I too need to stay away from the food blog!

Last i looked, LMA only showed 2 times a day, so i'm not sure you'd be able to see it before lunch.

we have that same Southern weather too... its sad when a cool day is 95.

Last trip, we got caught every time by the other boats wave as they dropped in Splash. This time, we rode at least 6 times and i dont remember getting wey. now Kali was a different story. we just saved that one until the end of the day.

Did i miss BTMRR on your MK list?

Cool pic! My kids are excited to try out all of the different transportation on our trip.

My family is back home from our beach vacation... which explains my recent absence from the DISboards! I have a lot of catching up to do...:surfweb:

In honor of Father's Day, here's a photo of my DH from our 2010 trip:

He may have not been able to claim the throne of England, but he's the King of our "castle"!

Welcome home, you were missed! Hope you had a blast!

Speaking of missed, completely missed that sword last trip, I don't remember seeing it at all, we didn't spend much time in Fantasyland though. Need to check it out this trip for sure!

Welcome back! Hope you had a great time at the beach :goodvibes

Aaw at posting a pic of DH in honor of Father's day - hope he had a great weekend with the kids.

I wish I was at the beach. :beach: but no...I've been here. :surfweb:  Hope you had a nice time!

We had a fabulous time, thanks! Spent a week on Hilton Head Island... it's a place we've never been to, and only our 2nd time vacationing at the beach. Our first beach vacation was waaaay back in 2004! DDs were only 3 yrs and 18 months at the time... our youngest hated the beach. She did not like the sand at all, but thankfully our rental house had a pool. Needless to say I was a bit worried how this vacation would go, but I should have known I'd worry for nothing. Both DDs absolutely LOVED it and are already asking to go back to the beach next summer!

I only recently found out that the sword will actually come out of the stone! Not all the way, but it can be pulled a little bit... something I learned here on the DIS! Apparently, the trick is to look for a Cast Member nearby who is wearing a black fanny pack or bag of some sort. I guess it's a remote-thingy that the CM can use to release the sword. Pretty cool, eh?

I saw that on here too, I didn't know it was someone with a black fanny pack though, just that someone was standing around releasing it sometimes. I'll be on the lookout for the mysterious person in black now. :lmao:

Beach is fun, we went to Cape Cod the last two summers and the boys just love it. First year weather was great, heat wave and perfect beach weather, but last year not so great. We did go whale watching one day which was really neat. DH's boss owns a house on the beach so he let's us have it for free before high season kicks in which is really nice. Only downside is you have to bring everything when you rent a house. From the sheets to the toilet paper. Luckily we have a key to the basement where the owner keeps his stuff and when I had forgotten the sugar I was able to go find some. :thumbsup2

Glad to see you back around the DIS boards again (although I've been only here off and on myself), and good to hear that you enjoyed a nice trip to the beach :)
We're just now starting to get some nice weather, although it's been staying pretty cool....not sure how I'll react to the temps in Disney even in late Sept. and early Oct!

Thanks! We really enjoyed our beach stay... as I mentioned, our last trip to the beach was a few years ago. At that time, we actually went with my DH's family: our family of 4, my in-laws, DH's grandparents, his 2 brothers and their wives and kids... 14 of us in all!

And although I'm a Yankee by birth, I've lived in the South for over 20 years... but I still don't think I'm quite used to the heat and humidity!

because I checked out the rehabs & closings for September... Primeval Whirl and ITTBAB will both be closed during my trip! :( I'm also not thrilled with the fact that Fantasmic! will be showing nightly. I based our (Part2) day at DHS on that fact that F! would not be playing, therefore hoping the crowds would be lighter (also, I know I'm in the minority but I'm not a big fan of the show)... BUT. I am hoping that since F! will be playing nightly it will mean the crowds won't be too bad, as they'll be spread out.

However, I'm trying not to let that get me down... it's really not that hard to get excited, because there's just 68 days left until I leave for WDW, woohoo! :woohoo:

Rehabs and closures, we are very familiar with these, since we usually go in January. I try to tell myself we are lucky it's not a bigger attraction that's closed, like one time we just missed Test Track being closed. I was so diappointed the one year that Living with the Land was closed, go figure. :confused3 We just love that ride. My son is looking forward to one of his favorite rides being open, Splash Mountain. I think it's been closed for 3 of our 4 Janaury trips.

I'm glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the beach! It's not Disney, but it's still fun.

On our first family trip in '07, Spaceship Earth and BTMR were closed... I was so bummed, especially about BTMR! We were lucky last year that nothing was closed... or else nothing that we didn't care to miss, that is. I actually don't remember if anything was closed or not. If it was, we didn't miss it, LOL!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Magic Kingdom

BTMR is one of my favorite MK attractions... in fact, it may just be my #1 (it's a tough choice between POTC and BTMR!) I can remember during my very 1st trip to WDW (waaaaaay back when I was 10) my brother, sister, and I talked our mom into going on BTMR... even though it was against her better judgment! My mom doesn't like roller coasters at all, but somehow we convinced her to go. My brother and I rode together in one car, while Mom, Dad, and my sister were in the car behind us. Mom spent the entire ride yelling at my brother and I to put our arms down and hold on, LOL!

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that Heather and I won't be able to talk Mom into going on BTMR again in September... but we're sure gonna try!

I absolutely  LOVE  BTMRR! My parents were the same way - they'd let us ride something, and then yell at us once we got off for not holding on. :lmao: I'm the opposite with my kids - I yell at them for holding on .... "LET GO OF THE BAR! Now, put your hands up in the air and scream WEEEE!" I make the kids practice in the car sometimes with DH's driving. :rolleyes1 I'm a bad influence on my kids. :rotfl2:
