4 gigs of pics, 3 blisters, 2 pairs of new shoes, 1 bleeding toe = our great trip!

Boo Ho Boo Ho Ho ! :( I wanted to see your latest update but none of the pictures are showing up hope they come back soon cause your such a good photographer !

I am so totally INSPIRED by your fantastic photographs. :worship:Your trip report is awesome, too...but your pictures are amazing! I am going in Sept.-just me and my DH. We have been many times, but never just the 2 of us. One of the things I am most looking forward to, is taking pictures of architectural details, flowers, windows and doorways, etc. All the shots we never have had time for in past visits. You have given me SO many ideas...I LOVE the pictures in the shops, especially the Christmas ornaments. I also love all your night shots, and will be practicing with my Canon Rebel XTi. I got a wide angle lens for Xmas from my kids, but don't know really how to use it.:confused3 we'll be staying at POFQ, so maybe some scenery shots there. I love your fisheye lens pictures, too. I am SO glad you shared your trip and your pictures. You are an amazing Mom, your girls will treasure these pictures and memories. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much for such kind words :goodvibes. I really, really tried to make an effort to take several different pictures this visit. Seemed like we were always in a hurry, so there are several I didn't get. I actually went with a list *blush* of photos that I wanted to make sure I got them. I'm hoping to stay at POFQ next visit, we've never stayed anywhere but a value resort. I have seen pictures and it is beautiful, definately somewhere I'd love to pull out the camera and snap away. I'll be looking for your TR when you come back to see how you did with your wide angle lens! I was in heaven with the fisheye. There are lots of tight spaces where you can't back up that are perfect for a wide lens :thumbsup2.

WOW!!!!! These pictures are amazing! You are very talented. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed looking at them. :dogdance:

I look forward to seeing more. :goodvibes

As soon as I work out whatever my Photobucket deal is, I'll have the report back up and running.

Just found your trip report, and I am loving it! You're a great writer and photographer! Can't wait for the next update. :goodvibes:

Boo Ho Boo Ho Ho ! :( I wanted to see your latest update but none of the pictures are showing up hope they come back soon cause your such a good photographer !

I'm going to fix that. My pictures all over the place are gone :scared1:.

Be back soon:).

Alright - using a new hosting site with unlimited storage, so posting pictures should no longer be a problem :thumbsup2. Sorry for the delay.......

Now.....on with the show......

Good morning! Up and at 'em it's time to get to EP for our princess breakfast at Akershus. The weather is sunny but the forecasters are saying get ready for rain, LOTS of rain. Optimistic, we pack our stuff up and head out the door. I drove again this morning, because it seems the easiest way to ensure getting a seat :rotfl: and because, as usual, we are running just a few minutes behind schedule.

Pull into the EP parking lot, not bothering to take a picture of where we parked, rather repeating over and over which row/# we are in thinking we'll remember this in 12 hours or so you, can probably see where this is going :rolleyes1.

We arrive just moments after rope drop and go straight to the Innoventions pavillion that has the morning check-in for the Kim Possible game. We scan a card and get Norway as our first pavillion. This works out well because Norway is where we have breakfast.

Grab a FP for TT - this will be the first time the girls have DARED to go on a new "grown up" ride this trip. Crossing fingers they like it or they will  me for the rest of the day. Start walking towards Norway so we can get checked in for breakfast.

Snap a picture of the CS place in Mexico all nice and empty. Of course, my lens is fogged up because of the humidity, but that doesn't stop me:

Time to get checked in:

Get our pager thingy and decide, since it's sprinkling that we'll step inside of the Norway shop and take a look around. Few minutes later and our buzzer thingy goes off as they are ready to seat us.

First we are taken in the lobby area where we wait to have a photo taken with Belle. Angelina was "hot" and decided to cool herself off a bit while waiting:

Few moments later we take our picture with Belle and then are seated at our table. This restaurant is a buffet/family style set-up. The buffet has "cold" foods (yogurts, fruits, cheeses, raw fish, muffins, etc.) and they bring you a platter of "hot" food that they will refill as necessary:

I have become addicted to the create your own yogurt at different restaurants:

One more plate full of food:

While we were eating we were visited by the princesses. It was too sweet, I had my back to where they entered the room, so the girls would get all excited and point and tell me who just appeared in the room.

First was:

Ariel (with legs, which the girls thought was totally cool!)

Then - Snow White:

THEN OMG WE HAVE A SPECIAL GUEST::::::

606987987_8xMqu-S.jpg

Seeing Cinderella 2x's at different meals was really a BIG DEAL to the girls. I had told them not to expect her, that she's ususally at the castle with her own breakfast guests.

To round out the meal was Aurora:

Finished up what has become another favorite breakfast of the girls (to quote Angelina the eggs were "better than MawMaw's", her grandmothers ) this is definitely one that we will add to our list of must-do restaurants for every trip.

Snapped one more pretty picture:

606988158_V6PL8-S.jpg

Left the restaurant and was met with quite angry looking skies, every direction we looked:

What to do, what to do. We were going to chance redeaming our FP's for TT and started walking that way when the heavens opened up and soaked us to the bone! We made a mad dash for Mouse Gears and camped out there for awhile before the rains stopped (or at least slowed down for a bit) and we decided it was time to leave. We didn't hear the cars zipping along on the track at TT, figured it was shut down for a bit due to the weather - so we headed back to Norway to start our Kim Possible mission.

Up next, what country do the girls get to perform their mission in first and how long do they walk around looking like this:

Just read your last installment. Boy do those skies look scary.

Are you going to be able to get your pics back up and working. I would have loved to been able to see them, especially Fantasmic.

Yes, it was very intimidating to look out and see those skies, especially thinking....'this is our last FULL day we aren't leaving for ANYTHING'! It was pretty miserable, but - what can you do :confused3.

As for my other pictures, they will be back up on the 18th of this month. That is when my cycle begins again and photobucket will unlock them. Maybe I should put in a note when that happens so people can go back and look at them???

Glad to hear you had a good time at Akershus. We are trying it for the first time on our upcoming trip.

By the way, great food pics...those look like professional pics for a restaurant.

We have done Akershus several times and have never had Ariel or Cinderella there....lucky you! We have never even seen Ariel other then in parades, etc. We have thought about going to the grotto several times, but the line always seems so long??!!

I had read good reviews on the restaurant and can say without a doubt that we were not let down in any way. It was all YUMMY!

As for the pictures, I took them with the Dis in mind ;). I know how so many like looking at pictures of the food. Sometimes the descriptions on the menu's are hard to figure a vision for - this way people can actually see what it looks like.

I thought Ariel was always there . I'll have to let DDs know that they were double honored to have both Cindy and Ariel there!!! Who did you have in place for those two?

I agree the Grotto line can get very out of control. We've done it a few times, but got there right when they opened it so we could avoid all that. No shade and no where to sit makes for a grumpy mommy -- while DDs are running around playing in the water keeping cool.

They were very lucky. We've never had human Ariel at Akershus either. And Cinderella being there is very rare I think. Most often it's Belle outside, Aurora, Snow White, Mulan, and Mary Poppins inside (which cracks me up because she really isn't a Princess!)

What lens do you use for your character meals? I still have to use my P&S at character meals because they seem so close?!?!

I also think it's funny that Mary Poppins is kind of granfathered in as a princess also. She doesn't really have a place to fit.

I used my regular carry around lens for the pictures in the restaurant. I would have used my 50mm, but I had DDs take photos of me with the princesses also and that would have been difficult for them to back up and get us in the picture centered, etc. I didn't use the flash inside - that could be what makes the difference between our pictures. The flash would drown out the background and possibly throw shadows around. I just used the lighting from the windows. Guess it was lucky we were sitting next to one, rather than in the center of the restaurant.

Actually looking at the photos again, I see shadows so I must've used the flash as well. I'll have to look at the EXTIF to see what the settings were.

Picking up where we left off....yummy breakfast at Akershus - left the castle to angry skies - chanced TT - met with downpours - decided to head back to Norway to start the first Kim Possible mission.

Went to the kiosk that houses the KP Kimmumicators. Got the Kimmunicator - stepped away from cart and started pressing the appropriate buttons. Found out that the first mission takes place in China. I was :excited: because #1 China was a country that I was REALLY looking forward to photographing and #2, because the rain had subsided so I would be able to photograph China.

The way these missions work, you are assigned a country (China this time) and the entire mission takes place in the country you are assigned. To me this is a brilliant idea. The kids get the opportunity to explore a whole country, seeing more than they would if it was DH & I walking through with them and parents of older children (like mine) can take advantage of the country while the kids are dashing too and fro (or simple take a break and have a drink while watching the kids scurry around looking for their next clue). DH and I have tried to raise the girls to be conscious of people around them - be aware of their surroundings - and to be on their best behavior when we're not around....because you never know when we'll appear :rolleyes1.

I didn't worry for one second that the girls would get in the way of people (grown ups) wanting to take in whichever country they were in - they don't run inside - etc. While they did their thing, I did mine:.......

An advantage to getting there early, no people:

From a little cart out front of the pavillion:

Finally worked my way inside the main building:

610148453_XWp6f-L.jpg

While inside, I helped the girls with a few clues for their mission. The Kimmunicator will have a KP character give the "next" step for the mission in a little cartoon clue where they are talking to you. After the clue, where they tell you where to go, there is typically a picture of the building that they need to go to. It is absolutely amazing how much has been built into doing these missions.

One of the clues that they have to do is go into the store and find a CM who is working behind a counter - she will produce a fortune cookie with a clue in it. You have to say the correct code words to get the cookie. While in the store, I took advantage of snapping a few pictures:

610113975_5F5P4-L.jpg

610115854_7ZTji-L.jpg

Back out of the store we passed this statue:

610117352_FHiTP-L.jpg

After about 30 minutes their mission had been completed. Not giving anything away, but the mission ends near here:

610120268_JRZKz-L.jpg

The final clue in all of the missions is the place where the Kimmunicator (cell phone) gets dropped off. You actually have to search for the hidden area that you drop the phone in.

Once you're finished with your mission - you can search out another kiosk, scan your KTTK and get a new assigned country to pick up your new Kimmunicator for your new mission. Use the same KTTK every time, the KP game keeps track of which countries have been assigned to you so there isn't a duplicate country that will come up. If you get a country that you don't want to walk so far to, a CM can override the computer and assign you one closer.

Up next, it starts to rain again, so we take a ride on a Viking ship......

Thanks!!! I'm so nosy!!!

Looks like I was set at f3.5 with an ISO of 2000. The flash did fire :confused3, I'm surprised with those settings that the pictures weren't completely washed out. Could be I didn't realize the flash was going off. You all don't understand - I'm sure it seems by looking at my pictures, I know what I'm doing - I'll let you in on a little secret -- It's all luck that they turn out the way they do :lmao:.

Gorgeous pics of china. Why do I have the feeling that I'm going to spend all day just doing KP missions?!?!

:lmao:

We did 3 missions (out of 9), the rain was just too much and slowing us down. Maybe there were 4 - I'll remember as I look at my pictures. I do remember falling asleep hearing her ring-tone (the same as in the cartoon) because every time you get a clue the phone (Kimmunicator) rings that funky tone. The countries were FULL of kids doing these missions. Disney marketing has hit the nail on the head with giving late elementary/middle school aged kids something "fun" to do in the "boring" WS area.

Thank you :flower3:. I see you live in Jacksonville, my mom lives in Jax - she lives very near the American Adventure waterpark - are you near there? We spend every 4th of July there watching the fireworks get shot off the pier!

Oh the fireworks are wonderful down at the beach. We actually live on the west side of Jacksonville off of I-295 but we venture over to the beaches on a fairly regular basis and have watched the fireworks off the pier a few times.

Finally worked my way inside the main building:

I love your pics - you did a fantastic job! :thumbsup2

I especially love the one above with the smiling statue - wonder if he is the only one out of all those that is smiling (also think it was neat you spotted him!)

I definitely will have to do the KPM on my next trip!

My mom always calles from the festivals that go on at the beaches. We've made it for the "Bluegrass" one, one year - it was great fun!

Great TR, your pictures are awsome.

Thank you :goodvibes - can't wait till they are all back and running again. I feel like I'm missing an arm with some photos blocked out.

I have a few more of the smiling guy, I thought it was amazing that some of them have different expressions. If you look in the big grouping you can see one down on a bent knee.

The KP missions are awesome! It was a great way for the girls to blow off steam - they had so much fun!
