4 gigs of pics, 3 blisters, 2 pairs of new shoes, 1 bleeding toe = our great trip!

Look how grown up your DDs got!!! That's amazing!

Think you've convinced me to rent that fisheye!!!

That fisheye is TOTALLY COOL to use around the parks.

Great update! I would've slept in, too!! The pix of the girls in the napkin holder are such a cute idea!! Love it as always! Keep 'em coming!

As for the picture of the girls with the napkin holder, I must confess that DH had the idea in 2006, I just remembered it and retook it in 2009. Wonder how many more years it will be before their faces are too big to put in the circle.

Great updates, can't wait to see what happens next. :thumbsup2

Either they didn't have Star Tours when I was last there or I just didn't see it, but it was great to see the photos and great photos they were! My DS will be thrilled to go on that ride. I can't wait. Your pics are making me even more excited and I didn't think that was possible!!!!

Eventually we get to fisheye nighttime photos! Hopefully they're as good on the big screen as they are on my 3" LCD screen :rotfl:.

They put on a cool Jedi Training show in front of Star Tours, where they pick kids out of the audience. We didn't watch the show (which is put on a few times/day) but I have friends whose little boys have been chosen. The ride is in one of those simulator thingy's. You get jerked around a bit, but going warp speed makes up for it :thumbsup2.

Just joining in :) Great TR so far :thumbsup2 I totally agree with you and your girls when it comes to 1900 Park Fare , the food def leaves little to be desired but the entertainment is awesome ! I never new about the transportation trading cards until now, I was telling DS about them and he is so excited about collecting them on our next trip! Thanks for the tip :) Your pictures are just amazing , the nighttime ones are my fav ! I showed DH your pictures and said how comes mine don't look like that ? His response was I guess I bought you a crappy camera !:rotfl: I did have a very good camera up until a couple weeks ago a Cannon XT but the prongs that connect the memory card to the camera got bent and they wanted way to much to fix it :sad1: My pictures were no where near as good as yours are though even w/ a SLR ! So in turn I went with inexpensive model this time a Nikon CoolPix L20 . Well anyway can't wait to hear more about your trip and see more of your beautiful pictures !popcorn::popcorn::

Had to laugh at your description of your meal at H&V - I've been saying a similar thing "salads, some chicken...don't remember exactly but it was all yummy!" :thumbsup2

You can put two together and make them look like glasses on their eyes!! :lmao: Kudos to the hubby for the creativity!

:lmao: Your DH is funny about your camera! I actually learned last summer how to take pictures of fireworks - it's simple but I had to have someone tell me how to do it. I really, really, really like taking photos at night - that's when I'm most comfortable with a camera. I'm glad you're enjoying the report.

As for the trading cards - the bus was the hardest set to get - we've been working towards those since last year (when we were first told by a monorail pilot about collecting the sets). I see your DS is 5, prepare him that he may not get them all on the first visit.

What day were you at DHS?

Monday June, 29th. Were we there at the same time?

Had to laugh at your description of your meal at H&V - I've been saying a similar thing "salads, some chicken...don't remember exactly but it was all yummy!" :thumbsup2

Sometimes the buffets all run together :rotfl:. I took pictures of the food from a future buffet, but didn't take a photo of the actual buffet line. So much for being consistent! I'm glad I'm not the only one who, after a month, starts to get a fuzzy memory for what we ate.

:rotfl: I can see them doing that as teens!!! DH, who leaves the photography up to me, often comes up with some good ideas for photos. It's just up to me to compose the shot!

I know he's a real comedian ! LOL Well whoever taught you how to take night time pictures did a very good job :thumbsup2 I love the nighttime pictures but get so frustrated because I can never find the right setting on the camera and they always come out blurry ! LOL

I will def prepare him that he may not get them all , especially since we never ride the bus due to my terrible motion sickness . I wish I would have know about this 4 years ago though and he probably would have the whole collection by now . LOL Just a quick question about the cards can you just ask an CM in that area for them like the CM's that stand on the monorail platform or the ones that do the rope on the boats or is there someone special we should ask ?

Nighttime pictures typically take a high ISO setting and a low fstop :thumbsup2. My MK ones were also aided by the use of a tripod and a shutter release.

No, you can't ask just a closeby CM about the cards :guilty:. It's the monorail pilot or a bus driver. On the ferry, DDs asked someone that was working on the ferry. They didn't go upstairs, but I don't know that it wasn't a captain on a different one just catching a ride. You know you can also get a co-pilot's license on the monorail also? They will give everyone in the group (or just kiddies if the adults don't want one) a card once they ride in the front.

Did you read about the certificate we got at Sir Mickey's? One of the CMs there "helped" DDs find the Mini statue in the shoppe. Once they found her, the CM filled out the certificate with DD's name, the date and her (the CM's) name verifying that they found Mini. I'd never heard of this either.

Thanks for the camera tips :goodvibes I've always thought about getting a tripod but wasn't sure if I could commit to carrying it around and with my new camera it's little I don't know that you can put it on a tripod :confused3. LOL I was just looking at my new camera and it says it has a high ISO of 1600don't know if this would be high enough or not ? If you don't mind me asking what is an fstop ?

Thanks also for all the help with tips on collecting the transportation cards :thumbsup2 My two oldest and DH did ride with the monorail driver this year for the first time and received there license :)

I never heard of the Sir Mickey's until your report either . We will def have to put this on our list to check out for the next time cause I know the kiddies would love it and it would be something really cute for there scrapbooks !

Just a tip that if you are using a tripod for your nighttime pics, you want the lowest ISO setting for the best results. If you are handholding for nighttime pics, you want the ISO set high.

An f/stop is the aperture number on your camera. 1.8, 3.5, 5.6, 8.0, etc. It's the opening in the lens that lets the light in. The smaller the number, the bigger the opening to let in the light---sort of like your pupils. In dark rooms, they are open very wide to try to get as much light as you can. In very bright conditions, they are very small to avoid letting too much light in. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much Annnewjerz for all the camera information .:thumbsup2 I wish I would have know all this before my SLR broke :sad1: Unfortunately since I couldn't afford to fix it or buy a new one I had to go with a inexpensive model the Nikon Coolpix L20 and don't believe that it would be capable of doing some of these things .:confused3 It will be nice to have this info when I am able to purchase another SLR one day , so thanks again :)

No problem. Just so you know, an entry level dSLR like the Nikon D40, along with a good two lens kit you can get for under $600---maybe around $500 if yuo keep your eyes open for deals. An SLR might not be as far out of your reach as you think! And, if you had a film SLR camera, a lot of new digitals are still compatible with your old lenses, so you may not have to spend much $$$ at all. Good luck!

Unfortunatelly no fisheye Wishes :(. We don't have any more days at the MK. I took some GREAT fisheye nighttime pictures at DHS though. They're coming soon :rolleyes1.
