Ford Explorer has been great for towing.

There are many vehicles that can be towed 4 down, but you have to know first HOW MUCH YOUR RV CAN TOW! Many Class Cs it's only 3500 lb. That would really limit you.

We have been towing a Suzuki XL-7 (not available new anymore) for years behind our mh. Dh loves the set up with our tow bars (Blue Ox, I think) as it doesn't have to be 100% in line to hook up - has a little leeway. Tows great!

Yep, this. You'll need something pretty light (as would we if we decided to tow.) We choose not to tow (at least for now) and just rent a car if we're somewhere that we'd like to do some touring beyond a bikeable distance.

Agree about checking weight - really important! We like the Blue Ox hitch as it does have a bit of "give" when hooking up.

Both the Saturn and the Chevy HHR have been great as towed vehicles; unfortunately neither are being made anymore, but if you're looking at used, I'd check them out.

Check the Neon - it may accumulate mileage while under tow which could be a problem for resale and it would have to be a stick shirft. Some of the jeeps are quite heavy. PT cruiser and the Beetle would have to be stick shift or have a transmission pump.

The Honda CRV is towable 4 down as is the Chevy Equinox.

Motorhome magazine publishes a listing each year of towable vehicles you might check online and see if you can find a recent listing

Blue Ox publishes a great guide covering vehicles which can be towed.

We tow a 2013 Ford Focus with automatic transmission, 4 wheels down, using a Blue Ox tow bar.

It works great! I can unhook the car in less than a minute and have it hooked up and ready to tow in another minute.

Highly recommend Blue Ox hitches!

We just bought a 31' class C motorhome and it came with a Blue Ox tow dolly (I think that's what it's called). Does this make a difference in weight between 2 down and 4 down? New to the concept of towing, freaks me out a little and am trying to learn as much as I can.

BTW, you are looking for a toad to be towed by your RV. You will most likely also need a supplemental brake system for your toad.

I have towed 3 jeeps. one CJ7 with a small block/ NP435 trany and a dana 300 TC and dana 60's rolling on 35" tires Towed like a stubbern mule. Had a Cherokee best tow veh. i had. Then a 97 wrangler on 35" not bad much better than the CJ. all with a Blue ox
