We have big $$$'s invested, big dreams and anticipated this trip to BLT with DVC for a long time. I pray for peace. Just because your on vacation, which should be peaceful, does not mean it will be peaceful. There are many peace stealers that can try and steal your peace. I listen and read self help stuff. Can you tell?
Some examples:
1. Worry about work - I'm determined to walk out of the office Friday night in complete vacation mode. I will unplug totally and mentally. Feeling good about this now as it seems I have most things under control.
2. Travel delays or other disappointments related to travel - I actually handle these issues well. I sort of giggle at travelers who 'lose' it in the airport. Would really be a downer though if flight delayed due to tropical storm. Lost luggage doesn't even bother me too much. Drives DW bananas but "I'm still a guy" as Brad Paisley sings. I can live in same clothes a couple days. Sorry ladies, but it's the truth.
3. Kids whining - My "kids" are 16, 18 and 20. They still whine. At least I can tell them to run off on their own.
4. Half group want to go here and other half wants to go there - I'm going with the flow.
5. Worry about things at home front - Dogs are in kennel and cats are taken care of by neighbor. This is DW area of worry. We're using a new kennel. Issue for me is when DW worries, causes me pain. Chill.
6. Bad mood CM - I love a good natured CM. Totally love that. 'Welcome Home' the whole deal. In contrast, a CM in a bad mood can be a real turn off. I just have to put myself in their shoes and shake it off. I think they sometimes get abused by demanding guests.
Reminded of this post I wanted to do because my son got coverage just yesterday for his job. I hounded him for a month. I didn't want him to say he couldn't go because of his job. Now, that's taken care of.
DW and DD are really upset. My DD brought home a stray kitten from her work camp trip last week. The little guy was so cute and a great friendly soul. We have 3 cats but DW was taken by this little guy. He was unafraid of dogs and very affectionate with us. He did a great sales job on DW. DW and DD took kitten to vet on Monday too rid the fleas and get checked out. They came home crying and asked me to bury him in back yard. He had leukemia. It's very contagious for cats and he didn't have long so they had to put him to 'sleep'. At least he had some peace for a few days. I pray he's found peace from a tough start here.
Let the peace begin ...
