We will be going on the 9/14 Wonder. We would like to do Stingray City, (not Blue Lagoon) but not through Disney. Has anyone done this?

Can we do just Stingray City alone, without Blue Lagoon? How would we do this (logisitically)? How much would it cost for just Stingray CIty and a land/water taxi to Paradise Island? How often do they run?

Help! We leave in about 60 days!

Sorry, I cannot give you any advice about Stingray.

When we took the water taxi to Paradise Island on our first cruise, the taxies were located right at the end of the dock. Very convenient. Now I believe they're located a little walk away from where the Disney is docked.

As you walk down the end of the dock you will now find plenty of taxi , van and limo drivers waiting to take you over. We drove over in a white limo with another family from Tenn. and the cost was $4.00pp. The driver will also look for another $l.00 for the toll (50 cents each family in our case. Drove us right to the Atlantis. Coming back we went by van from outside the Atlantis again (this time with a young couple from Penn.) and the cost was again $4.00pp. No toll on the way back. Each time we found the drivers to be very pleasant and courteous and eager to answer any questions you might have about Nassau.

Have a wonderful time.

Thanks Otimon, at least that's one more piece of the puzzle solved! I have a site that I checked out, they said you can do StingRays for $25 each.

We've done Stingray City in Grand Cayman. It was great.
I would recommend the Dolphin excursion in Nassau.
It's pricey but an opportunity of a lifetime.:D

Hi, I am interested in the website/info you found about Stingray Island. I will be going on the Wonder 4 nite cruise leaving this SUNDAY. We will be in Nassau on Monday and would love to know what you found out. Is it a stingray encounter?
Thanks,
Vicki

We did Stingrays in Grand Cayman, not Nassau.
I reccomend dolphin encounter in Nassau.

Hi, did I post to the wrong reply, I thought that if you post to a post you are assumed to replying to the original post. I am new to this, so my apologies.

I was looking for info from NEWBYCRUISER, looking to find out about the info they got about the Stingray thing. The dolphin thing is a little out of budget, we are a family of 5.
THANKS
Vicki

red_manor:

The Stingray site is www.stingraycitybahamas.com They have information on tours. We wanted to do it ourselves, not go through Disney. Hope this helps. I'm trying to put the pices together and figure out how to do the Stingrays ourselves.

I emailed the stingray people. I will post a reply to my thread if I receive any information from them. I know others suggest the dolphin encounter, but it sounds like there is alot to do on the stingray one. I'll wait and compare prices.

Thanks again,
Vicki

Vicki:

Thanks, please let me know what information you get back from them. When is your cruise?

Ours is Sept 14

BOO HOO! When I emailed them it came back undeliverable!

But when you go to the spot to reserve on their web site, there is a pull down menu at the bottom of the info they want filled out and if you click on it, it says, Spelled exactly:

SNUBA Diving $45
Snorkeling $25

I don't know if it's a misspelling or not. Also, they don't list children pricing, if kids are allowed???

If you find anything else out, please let me know, and visa versa.
Vicki

PS We are going July 6th. on the WONDER

Hi Gail,

I am the one you have been e-mailing about this.....;) Looks like Vicki had luck e-mailing the Stingray people. Maybe she will find out some info....:p

It should not be this difficult! UGH!

Wow, you are leaving soon! Whatever you find out, please let the rest of know! I will be looking for a trip report from you, babe! Arne't you getting nervous?

thanks!

SNUBA is a form of scuba diving, I remember my sister talking about it. Yep, those were the prices I saw, also. I can't remember where I saw the kid price, maybe I didn't.

I wonder if they give you a break if you bring your own equipment...

Hi Michelle! (Babyjosie!)

Yes, I am getting nervous. I am reading all of these wonderful postings with tears in my eyes! I am already anticipating a tearful goodbye to a wonderful ending of our vacation! I am just very emotional like that!!!!!!:(

Did anyone else cry like a fountain when their vaca was over?

I found a website about Nassau if anyone is going,

http://www.whatsonbahamas.com, the article on taking bus #10 is cool - lots of historical info.

:D :D :D :D Try not too think about the end of the trip!! Just take your time and enjoy every minute......:p :p

Don't rush yourself. Go to the Spa......It was heaven and don't miss Palo!! The desserts are so wonderful..:p

I was in tears when our ship set sail and the ship horn played "when you wish upon a star'!!!!:bounce: :bounce:

My family thinks I am crazy, but I have them all talked into going and they are going to love it!! Have a great time........
