I am planning to come to Universal Dec. 3-7. That would give us 1 day each at Universal,IOA,Sea World and DC. is it enough time? I realize the parks close earlier in the winter. I am debating of whether to wait and come spring break-March 27-April1 but know the crowds will be heavy. We plan to stay on site(which will help with lines) not sure which hotel yet. any advice etc would be appreciated!!!

the most inexpensive of the onsite hotels is Royal Pacific, with Hard Rock next, Portifino the most expensive.

Cheapest rates seem to be the ones from the Entertainment book, at 50% of rack rates. I got waterview at Royal Pacific for 125.00 a night. www.entertainment.com for info on the book.

Onsite gives you front of the line ability. No waits for the most part. The first part of December the parks should not be very crowded. 2 days for IOA and US will work, Discover Cove is one day and My husband and I have done Sea World in one day, but we do not do the Roller coasters. Most of Sea World is shows that are staggered through the day. To see all of the shows alone takes most of your time.

If you stay onsite it won't matter in terms of the long lines.
Early December will have the light crowds.
It's really a toss up judging the weather in December versus late March for DC. Haven't read many trip reports from people who went to DC in December to see how cold it is. I'm sure the mornings can be in the 50's, but it warms up in the afternoon. Here's an averages web page.

If you come in December, you'll get to see USF/IOA in their christmas decorations. It's just wondering how cold things will be at DC. The water temp is the same no matter what. But laying on a beach chair when it's 60 doesn't work.
