4 day sooner or 7 day later??

We are doing a 4 night this October with our extended family. It is booked. I am planning another for just my family the next fall. There is about $1000 difference between the 4 day and 7 day. To you experienced cruisers: Would you go ahead and do the 4 day fall 2005 or wait even longer until you could save up enough for the 7 day?

7 day for sure! 4 days is just not enough, as soon as you get unpacked, it's time to pack up again.

Another vote for the 7 day. We did the 3 day, then the 4 day, and just returned Saturday from our first 7 day. DH and I both agreed that there is no way we could do a 3 or 4 day again! I think the 7 day is definitely worth waiting for!

Somehow I knew you guys would vote for the 7 day. So I have to tell myself: Patience Patience and Save Save Save.

Another vote to wait to go on 7 day OR figure out how to get extra cash and do both! LOL We did the 4 day and it just didn't seem like it was near long enough (of course is any length of a cruise really long enough if you don't want to go back to reality?) but we felt rushed and hated that we just got the ship layout down and we were due to get off! It sucks to wait but I'd definitely wait the extra time to go 7.

There is NO way I could do a 3 or 4 day now, unless I ALSO had a 7 booked, and I was just trying to get a "quick fix".

Consider this.....we took a 7 day in October 2003
We're taking another 7 in 38 days.
AND.....we have another 7 booked in October 2004!

I told DH, I'd get a second job, if I had to, JUST to pay for 2 cruises a year! (Lucky for me, that I didn't have too! Thanks to Uncle Sam!)

I suggest going through DCL (or maybe another TA does the same thing)

They let me pay a little at a time, once I pay off the deposit. Every paycheck, I pay just a little bit more.

It works for us!

Hi Fran, fellow cruiser!

We pay the same way, we send DCL a payment, here and there, so we don't go into wallet shock when vacation time rolls around!

Makes it less stressful.

Save for the 7-day!
