We've been to WDW as a family yearly since 99.

Thinking for a change of just a 4 Day Cruise on DCL next July and take a break from WDW.

Will we go through complete WDW withdrawl?

When is the best time to book DCL for July 2005 sailing?

Why not go over to WDW for Thursday and Friday after your cruise? We are doing the 4 day next year and that is what we plan to do. That still gives us the weekend to drive home.

Many on here have said they have been to the parks by 10:00 am after getting off the ship. So you could go Thursday and do two parks, Friday and do two parks, and leave on Saturday.

That is our plan. I have done both, and I admit that it is nicer to do the cruise after visiting the parks (instead of the parks after the cruise) because the cruise is more relaxing; but we want to do both and this works out best for our 1 week vacation and still allows us to drive from Indiana to Florida.

Have a great trip!

I just could not imagine being SO close to WDW and not going there!!! I would try to fit in at least one day at the "world".

I tried to give up WDW in exchange for a 3-night cruise and found that I just couldn't do it. We're sailing Thursday-Sunday and Monday is a holiday, so we're leaving the ship and checking into the Grand Floridian for one night and two days at the parks. I'm not sure how this is going to work out, we've never had such a short stay in the world before. My kids know that we won't be able to do everything, so they've gone through the park maps and selected their "must see" attractions. They're older though and into the thrill rides, so I'm pretty confident that we'll get it all done. It probably would have been better to do the parks first, but I'll let everyone know how it turned out for us.

What about the land/sea package? It seems like a great option for you.

We went on the 3 night Wonder in March and skipped the World this year. Our children ages 5,6 have been to the World every year of their life. They didn't even ask about going to Disney World...I think they experienced enough Disney on the Cruise. Our son said he would rather go on the cruise than stay at Disney World!

We're doing the opposite--WDW only and no cruise--next month. We have the opportunity to get away for a long holiday weekend, and decided that we just didn't have enough time to prepare properly for a cruise (DH's new job came up very suddenly and it's the first time in 32 years together that he's off every weekend, and all holidays!). I'm already having "no-cruise syndrome". I've got it so bad that we're booking a cruise in the fall. For me, a complete Disney vacation means WDW+DCL. It's almost impossible to do one without the other!

We are the opposite as well. DH and I have not been to WDW since May 02. We have visited DTD and maybe a resort for dinner when we're in the area, but we haven't been to the parks since May 02. But we have been on three Disney cruises since Oct 01. Once you start cruisin', you won't be able to stop! We have talked more than once about turning our May WDW trip into a cruise, too! But we're staying strong and sticking with the original plan!

We went to WDW for a week last September and took a 3 day Wonder cruise in February. When we started planning this year's fall vacation, the kids all voted for a 7 day cruise over a week in the parks or a land & sea. We had been on a 7 day the September before and spent 1 day before in the parks so it wasn't the vote DW & I were expecting! I suppose they feel that not that much has changed at the parks and they just love to cruise!
