Last fall I purchased 7 day PH from ParkSavers for $394. It was a buy 4 get 3 days free promo. On March 23, I’d like to try to upgrade to AP. Please check my math:

It looks like current price of my ticket (with tax) is $516.53 and an AP is $829.64. Will I pay $313.11 to upgrade?

Thank you.

The calculations you'll need are described here:
Anyone upgrade to AP since the price change

I did that exact transaction last week, and that was the number that I came up with. I bought a buy 4 days, get 3 free park hopper from Undercover Tourist at the old price and took it to Guest Relations inside the MK to upgrade to AP. The CM insisted that I needed to pay upward of $360 dollars to upgrade. I showed her my calculations and told her that I should get credit for the current price of a 7 day park hopper. She said that prices had just gone up and I could only get credit for the old price. I told her that that wasn't correct and that the ticket should be price bridged to the current price because the ticket was not purchased from Disney. She called someone else over, I told him (very nicely) what the issue was. He also insisted that because I bought my ticket before the price increase, I could only get the old value for the ticket. I told him that wasn't the way it had been in the past when I upgraded tickets and he said the policy had changed this year. He then said he would see what he could do for me, took my park hopper ticket and disappeared in the back for about 5 or so minutes. He came back and said they would give me the current price just this once, but would not be able to do it in the future. He also said something about starting a file, so I guess I have a "magical file" opened on me now, ugh. They ended up giving me credit for the gate price of the hopper and not the advance purchase price, so I only paid $292 and change for the upgrade.
Will be interesting to see what happens when I try to upgrade my 5 day water parks and more hopper next fall!
Well, after reading Robo's post from the above link, I guess they did do me a favor.

with the new ticket pricing now Im nervous to even attempt upgrading. we bought the same tickets last summer they were 369 ish? wanted to upgrade to aps in april.... Im confused as to what the new protocol is and the exact cost to me now

You'll preserve the money you saved between your discounted ticket and the price of regular, before Feb. 12, park hoppers.

To upgrade, you'll pay the difference:
Current AP you want to buy
minus
The price of the regular, before Feb. 12, park hoppers.

Ticket PRICES-Previous to Feb. 12, 2017
from an archived Allears page HERE.

If you bought the 7 day hoppers before the Feb. 12 price increase:
Parksavers Bridged value is now $467.54 (including tax)

So subtract that price from the current gate price (including tax) of the AP you want.

That would be the cost to upgrade.

thanks for the help! our cost to upgrade to aps is more now than it would have been few months ago. my crappy luck! I had calculated 930ish total for 3 adults now its 1,086.30. yeah no thanks:(

It's going to be about $1155 for us, but it's still cheaper than buying tickets next year and memory maker twice. That's how I look at it :)

we dont use memory maker:( but we did buy sets of hoppers to save for whenever we want in future , some 7 day and some 5 day. we would have upgraded if if was 930ish but anything over 1,000 doesnt make sense for us

I bought 5 day park hoppers from UT on 2/11/17. When we go in March of 2018, we are very seriously considering upgrading to the Premier Pass. Will my 5day park hopper get bridged to the current price in effect towards the purchase price in effect for the Premier Pass? That is what I was anticipating.

1. Nope
2. That's no longer possible with tickets purchased from stock minted before Feb. 12, 2017.

I hear ya!!! I had expected to pay $939.33 for 3 disney adult tickets. But now based on the new bridging policy my anticipated cost will be $1086.30. We are in the same situation as you. We have 3 7 day park hoppers that we bought over the summer from park savers. i am still going to proceed with the upgrade because we have plans to return as a family in a November and my husband and I have a "just us" trip in July so we will come out ok.

I am glad to know this now though so that I don't have sticker shock at guest services.

we just stocked up on some 7 day hoppers and 5 day hoppers and got actual tickets to save. No worrying on dates and when we plan to use them but they were great prices ! we go yearly and our 2017/2018 trips would have worked out for aps but not at the new cost. glad I know ahead too and can just prioritize my 7 day hoppers on april17th

You can reassign all the 5-day hoppers to a fake person you've added to your MDE. You won't have to stop by Guest Relations and the fake person keeps those 5-day hoppers safe until you need them.

the tickets in my mde as of now are the parksavers 7day hoppers and our old 10day nonexpire tickets which have 2 park days and 7 fun visits left. we want to save the nonexpire and prioritize the 7 day hoppers. the other sets of 7 day and 5 day hoppers are in a safe here at home until we need them. does this sound crazy?? haaa

Not at all! :)

It's the non-expirys that can't be moved so prioritizing is the way to go because you'd need a complete Family#2 for the 7-days.

If you did want to add the extra 7-days and 5-days to MDE so the digital info is stored there, add a fake/TicketSaver person and link the 7-days & 5-days there.

You do have a nice stash!! :-)

Just be sure to check while you're still at WDW.
Any mistaken use can be restored, and its generally easier to do while at WDW.

just one more worry! maybe I will end up obsessively checking each day which will suck up time at GR.
