4 at Pop Century

I have heard the rooms are not very big. There are 4 of us 2 adults and a 10 and 3 year old. Does anyone know if the rooms there are reslly big enough to accomodate us?

They are small, but you will do fine.

You will be fine - we spent 9 nights we me, DH and DD's 17 and 10 - no troubles. Although we didn't spend much time in the room.

Try getting connecting rooms. We have done this at Pop and it works out great. 2 bathrooms and 2 TV's and everybody gets their own bed.

We did it with my 7yo and my 14yo and it was SUPER small. In fact we laughed when we walked in. My 14yo son said "is this where the 7 dwarfs live?". If you can do it stay at a mod. We went from Pop to the Poly in that trip and the room at Poly was like 3 to 4 times bigger.

Sorry don't mean to be negative, but it is really small. Bottom line though, you are at Disney and will have a blast either way!

I have them at 260 sq.ft, not 210.

Uh, I say this with reservation, since I have nothing against POP, but we stayed there last year and I can safely tell you, those drawings are not accurate. The rooms may very well be 260 square feet, but the furniture is not drawn to scale. There was not even a foot between the wall and the nightstand on either side of our king size bed (same for my parents in their room with two double beds) and the table and chairs were right smack up against the end of the wall on the other side of the room, with little room between the ent. center and the table as well.

If you aren't going to the resort to have a vacation at the resort, and very few people going to Disney don't plan not to spend their entire days in the parks, then honestly you should not worry about this. But, you should be forewarned that the rooms are very small, that way when you get there you know to expect it and not be disappointed. Your family will still have a great time and love it, it's DISNEYWORLD!!!

We just did it with 4 adults (basically)--2 adults and 2 boys ages 20 and 21. It was just fine. Typical hotel room. It was probably easier since only 1 female but it was just fine. We loved it and the price was great. We have did moderates in the past and to be honest there wasn't enough difference in the room to justify the extra $$. We were right next to the bowling pin pool so it was great. Would definitely do it again.

I think the rooms are just too tiny.
If you watch the video in post #10, you will see how close the front door is to the bed and how if you hang clothes on the hangers, they would be right next to the sink. I remember having to squeeze into the bathroom to shut the door.

It sounds like there are many people who like POP, but count me out.

Remember, if the Pop is all you can afford, at least you still get to do Disney! We're a family of four and have stayed there and at the Coronado (mod) and there wasn't a whole lot of difference. The bathroom may have had a few more inches of space. From what I can tell, the mods have more luxurious pools, but that's not worth the extra expense for me. I'd rather have a 7 day vacation in a value than a 4 day one in a mod for the same price.

All value and mod resorts are a hike to the bus stops so you don't get any extra perks. We are such go go go people that we only come back to the room to shower, crash, sleep & repeat each day.

Have fun! Your family of four will do just fine. You can always upgrade at your next trip, but if you never knew what you were missing, you'd be fine.

We have stayed at POP twice with our kids....our last trip they were 6,4 and 1...so we had a pack n'play in the corner for the baby....it wasn't some place I wanted to spend too much time in but with all the extras we had (stroller in the corner, too!) we fit fine and it the reality of it was...we were only in there to sleep and shower for the day. You'll be fine!! Have a great trip!

We did POP in Feb with dh and myself as well as two teen dd's. Not the roomiest....but worked fine for us.

We have did moderates in the past and to be honest there wasn't enough difference in the room to justify the extra $$.

Pop is about 260 sq ft. Mods are either 314 or 340 sq ft (Caribbean Beach). Also, mods have two sinks outside the bathroom and a privacy curtain for changing. Also a small frig and coffee maker are in the rooms.

My DH, DS and DF (my son's BF..lol) stayed at the POP last June for their HS graduation and we were fine. We do not spend a lot of time in the room (sleeping). You will do great. You can have a cot brought into the room but that really cuts down on the space and really not needed. The room does have a sink outside of the shower/toilet area however it does not have a curtain. We made our own out of some material with elastic loops and a pair of removable self adhesive hooks to provide some privacy for changing. It worked out great. Hope this helps.

When we went, I found it was not much more to get two rooms at POP instead of a moderate resort. My boys were 9 and 7 at the time. Honestly, I would rather stay home than stay in one room that small for a week. If you can afford two rooms, do it. Myself-I would wait until I had the money for two rooms. They were very accomodating with the connecting rooms. And two bathrooms!!!

We went to another resort for three nights a month or so ago and ended up in one room with two double beds and it was about the size of the POP rooms. I was so frazzled and crowded and cranky. For me, that is not the kind of vacation I want. This is the same reason I have not taken my kids on a cruise yet. The staterooms are just too small. When they are old enough to have their own stateroom, I will consider it again.

That is just my opinion. It is doable, especially considering how little time you spend in the rooms. But I will never do it agian.

I don't know if you are talking about Disney's Cruise Line, but other cruises have connecting staterooms as well. At least Royal Caribbean has.
