We just recently purchased 5 day hopper passes at The Disney Store. We were told that we needed to hold on and save our receipts because the 4 and 5 day passes are now the same and there is no other way other than your receipt to prove you've paid for a 5 day and not the 4 day pass. So we were told that if we lose the receipt, we would lose a day. Has anyone else heard this, or have this happen to them? I don't think this is fair!

That is ridiculous!!! To expect someone to hold onto their receipt because DISNEY does not know what kind of passes a person has???

When the pass is scanned at the parks or at a Disney Resort or a few other select places, it should show how many days were on the pass originally, how many days have been used, where the last place that it was used, etc.

All I can think of is that it is not noted anywhere on the pass itself exactly what kind of hopper it was - a 4 day or 5 day, etc. But at WDW, THEY definately should know what kind of pass it is.

I will also say that I have heard of a number of people having "trouble" using their TDS passes at WDW recently, so unfortunately, saving your receipt is wise - you are protecting your investment.

That's ridiculous! I bought my 4 day at TDS at when they swipe it there, the information goes straight to the barcode on the back, and WDW reads that information. I don't know why you were told that...but I also work at TDS...and WDW knows...
Don't worry about it! It's always wise to try and save your receipt if it gets lost...but NOT to figure out if you paid for 4 or 5 days.
