Did you manage ok, or did you regret it? The future trip in 2020 includes myself, husband daughter30 and her BF30 and my grandson who will be 5 then. Currently, I feel priced out getting 2 rooms at a MOD although that's what I really want and need. I've been looking at the AOA suites and even offsite places with the one BR(2 beds) and then a pullout but honestly I don't see how any adult could possibly spend a week sleeping on a pullout bed. Anyone who can tell me your experience, please!!

No privacy for the couple sleeping on the sofa. One bathroom (unless you're staying in AKV-Kidani or BLT). Not an ideal situation. TBH, I feel the 1BR villas are better suited to families of 2 adults and younger children than they are for multi-generational families.

Is there a reason why you'll consider an AoA suite, but not just 2 standard rooms at AoA or POP (as opposed to the 2 rooms at a moderate that you mentioned)?

With so many adults, you would do better getting 2 rooms. More beds, more bathrooms, and you don't need need connecting rooms, which is the reason why families with young kids need the one bedroom.

I'm trying to ensure EVERYONE has a great vacation: my husband is the "Grumpy", HE needs a Hot tub or it's a bust, the standard rooms at AOA look so far away compared to suites. What I want is POFQ but I want to shave off $1500 of the package price somewhere, somehow. If offsite, taking in rental car price, parking fees, knowing I might only get 30day FP selections over 60, it's all weighing heavily. I'm not a newbie to WDW and I know the advantages of ONSITE. AOA was my first look at suites, but mainly now looking off sight because of the Hot tub thing. Then there's the pullout bed. Personally, I am NOT sleeping on one and I don't expect anyone would want to. But I thought I'd put it out here to see what someone else might have experienced doing so.

I truly wouldn't want to spend a week on a pull-out bed. And my poor DH, who has a bad back----I'd be afraid for him to even try to do that.

I think it's really personal preference about the pull-out bed. I've seen people say they're comfortable. But I slept on one last year and it was the worst night's sleep I've ever had. it's not even a thin mattress, it's just padding. No way I could sleep on one for a week and I don't even think my kids would be willing to. They thought it was uncomfortable too.

It's not the pull out bed that would bother me; the ones at WDW are actually quite comfortable to my way of thinking. Nope, it would be the lack of an extra bathroom. I travel with a teenager now and she lives in that place:headache:.

ETA: I'm assuming that the pullout beds are the same style through out the property. Only napped on one at deluxe.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom with four adults. My husband and I treated my mom and her husband to a Disney vacation with us. We stayed in a Kidani 1 bedroom. We gave them the master and we took the pullout. We stayed just shy of a week. The pullout was not that comfortable, but it was our choice to take it, and we knew about it going in. It was fine, but I would not have considered a 1 bedroom without the second bath, thankfully we own at AKV so it was easy to get, but there is no way I would have done it at one of the resorts that only have one bathroom that's a non-starter for me. I also probably wouldn't do it with a kid, there really was no privacy with the pullout, so if that's where the kid will be sleeping, and taking naps (let's be honest I nap at Disney sometimes) or going to bed early, I just don't think it would work too well as the adults would be cut off of most space in the 1 bedroom.

I slept on a pullout for two nights in May at AKL. I was shocked at how comfortable it was and how well I slept.

The lack of privacy is the bigger deal here, I think.

Pull out beds are not comfortable for adults, especially a couple. I slept on one for only 3 nights at SSR and it was not great. A week is a lot longer. With your 30 yr old daughter and her bf, I definitely recommend 2 rooms privacy for everyone. I am in my 30s and have travelled with my husband and parents starting in our 20s... I never would have been comfortable sharing the same hotel room. An AoA suite would work IF the adults are ok on a pull out. To me, the inconvenience of a pullout could really compromise the vacation unless the couple on the pull out is totally on board with it in order to save money. YMMV.

I use this company but there are others: vacationstrategy.com. They have been great.
You can email them for a quote. There are also other properties, I like Wyndham Bonnet Creek it’s 5 mins out side of Disney Magic Kingdom. Lazy River, Very nice “wade in” pool and pool bar.
To give you an idea my latest stay will be 2 bedroom suite, Full Kitchen, 5 nights, all in $144 a night.
I have food delivered - this time I’m using Amazon. A simple hot breakfast in the suite and we bring our lunch and park it in a locker for the morning. We buy dinner in the park or head to a resort.
Uber/Lyft are both excellent $14.00 round trip each day. A little more for your group since you’ll need the larger car.
We do one park a day. We weren’t using the hopper so we stopped getting those.

If you want to stay on property, 2 rooms and they don't have to be in the same resort.
Otherwise, off property is probably the way to go if you're on a smaller budget.

All of this.
A 3-bedroom condo at Windsor Hills or Windsor Palms would be my choice, but if you can't do off property, then definitely 2 rooms.
.

Two of my three "children" are now adults. We have gotten to the point that we stay off site or bite the bullet and pay big bucks for two rooms. It's just too many people to share a small space and adult bodies on pull out bed for more then a weekend does not make for a pleasant vacation for anyone.

Honestly, when we travel all together now both my husband and I prefer and off site condo. We get a nicer one with lots of amenities, pool and hot tub are a must! We really enjoy Windsor Hills a lot, but I do suggest looking at different owners because the decor and type of mattress on the beds can differ greatly depending on the owners.

We take a trip with extended family about every three years and the configuration of the families and the rooms we are able to get means that I always end up on the pullout bed (and I do it willingly because it makes the most sense) in one of two 2 bedroom units that we get. Whoever is sleeping on the pullout has to be pretty nonchalant about privacy. Honestly for sleeping it is less of an issue for me than it is during the day when maybe you would like a little quiet break and there is really nowhere to go because your "bed" is the couch in the living area that everyone else is using. It's fine and doable but if you can swing two rooms, I think that would be better especially for the extra bathroom. We usually do our big trip at Kidani so at least I felt like I had my own bathroom space because of the extra bathroom. We stayed at Boardwalk one year and it was a bit of a pain having to use the master bathroom.

Thanks ALL. I'm leaning toward OFF site. I've been saving for this VACA since my grandson was born. Unfortunately, this year has been quite a downturn health wise with too many medical bills$$. I know It'll still be memorable no matter!! :)

Wyndham Bonnet Creek. 2 bdrm deluxe.

We're treating my MIL, 3 adults. We need 2 separate sleeping areas for privacy and 2 bathrooms. PEROID! I would love to stay on site however, the increase in prices have priced us out. After One dvc quote on A 2 bdrm and then a quote for 2 moderate rooms, I went straight to WBC. No brainer for us.

I was the unlucky person who had to sleep on a pullout couch. I was MISERABLE!!! Thank God it was only 3 nights. One or 2 nights on a pullout couch for an adult that's ok. However, anything over that time to look for a real bed. Plus a 5 yr old.

Again WBC!!@

How about Doubletree in DS? They have suites and you can get the EMH, 60 day FP benefits.
