Whenever the 4/3 packages were out could the Dining Plan be
added to the package? Is the 4/3 offer a Room only discount?

I was also wondering about Room only discounts--
is it possible to add dining plan?

We added dining to our 4/3 package in April. I have a room only rate reserved now and added the regular dining package to that as well.

You can add DDP to the 4/3 deal, you just have to pay for it for the entire 7 days.

If you want to add DDP to a Room Only, you need to purchase a vacation package.

It had been explained to me that we would need at least a one-day park ticket to get the dining plan. It didn't directly affect us because we did the 4/3 with 7 day parkhoppers and the QSDP.

Yes, which makes it a package and not a room only reservation. The only non-ticket way to get the dining plan is with an AP discount w/ dining (still considered a package, just sans tickets), and with a DVC reservation.

Yes, with just a few very specific exceptions, you must have a room & tickets package to get the dining plan...but the 4/3 deal included tickets...it was a room & tickets promo package (you paid for 4 nights in the hotel & 4 days in the parks and the "free" part was 3 nights hotel free and 3 more days on the tickets free.)

We had the 4/3 deal in May on two rooms, and paid to add the DDP to both rooms, no problem.

WOW- I didn't realize that the 4/3 deal included the tickets as well! :thumbsup2 Man I wish we could have gone this year!

I hope they have that deal again next for next summer!!! :cloud9:

This tickets were what sealed the deal for us! We go next Friday, right at the tail end of that 4/3 deal....just as FD begins so we missed on that one. :confused3

You are saying that you paid for 4 days and got the other 3 free right? This isn't much of a savings. 4 day base ticket $219, 7 day base ticket $228. SO savings of $9 per ticket (same savings for kids). There is no savings on park hopper or water park tickets. As a matter of fact the price difference from a 3 day ticket to a 10 day ticket is only $25. I know, I know every little bit helps. And, it all adds up. Just wanted to point it out. So, one way to look at it, the first 3 days are expensive the rest are cheap.

You are right in terms of the ticket savings, but it still saved us quite a bit on the room portion of the 4/3. We also added the dining plan (paid for the full 7 days). :)

Yes.

I'm hopeful that the 4/3 will be offered this January - with the gift card they offered last January. I tried to price things out and it looks like it's a total of about 43% off on room and tickets. Plus the $200 gift card on top. Not much saving on the tickets, but that kind of room discount hasn't been seen since the last recession.
