Its not official yet, but they are reporting on the " touring plans"
( unofficial guide to wdw authors) website that the 4/3 deal will possibly be extended into March. January 24th was supposed to be the date you had to book by. No word as to whether travel dates will be extended.

I talked to a CM online last night and asked about that & they "had no confirmation of that". Which I wondered if it ment "not yet".

We already have the 4/3 Deal but if they are extending it through March (not confirmed of course) I guess Disney is having trouble booking rooms???

Hmmm that would surprise me as when I was finally trying to book, there were no values or mods left. That was last friday. On Monday I tried again and they had some room left. I was looking for time right at the end of the promo which is June 27.(they said it was from people not following through with their deposits) I'm glad I got what we wanted June 20-27 at POP. I had only 6 days and it was like June 16-22.

Well heres to hoping more people can take advantage of it.

I keep playing around with our dates (even though we are already booked) and I see more and more availability popping up each day. I think a lot of people booked on a “wait and see” theory; they have until 45 days out and are now cancelling. Maybe their job situations got shakier, maybe the tax refund isn't as much/coming as soon as they thought, maybe they couldn't convince their spouse, maybe they realized Disney isn't as important as whatever else is going on in their lives, etc., etc.

I hope it is true!! That way more people would maybe be able to go to Disney!! I guess it is a wait and see.... :cool1:

But of course, they would need to open more rooms in all the resorts since value and moderate are not available now

I hope they do this because then I could book this for my upcoming march trip. I couldn't pay for it by Jan 24 (close to 45 days out from our dates).

Wow! What a time to join the Disboards! I heard today though that Disney is laying off several hundred executives. This may all be great for a discounted trip but in the long run bad for Disney. I'll keep watching, that is a great deal.:thumbsup2

Me too... I am taking my son and using our tax refund, but it does not come till the first of Feb... darnit!!

Maybe, just maybe this rumor is true!! :)

Good news! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm booked at the end of the promo (June 16-23). I originally booked my package before Christmas before the 4/3 deal was too end in December. I booked a value (POP) with no problem. A few weeks ago I decided to switch to a mod (CSR). When i called the only room i could get was a waterview room (2 queen beds). Didn't necessarily need or want a water view room but I don't mind having one. Everything else that was available was for that time were king beds. I figured lots of people were taking advantage of this deal. I agree if they extend the promo then they should extend the range of dates.

Wow. But they didn't change the dates of travel.

I know when I was playing around online, there wasn't a lot open for my dates with the 4/3 at mods.

I kinda wish they'd not extend it so that uh there'd be less people there. ;)

:cool1: I was hoping they would do that. Great news. It covers more of my days than the 40% off. :thumbsup2

Now, come on tax return check!

Denise

We were going to book a March trip but with the shaky ground of job security right now AND not being able to file our taxes sooner (we have to wait until Feb because some forms are not ready!)

So we're on hold.... praying I get a pin code soon. That would help!

I called today and booked the 4/3 for the first week of may for 2 room in pop w/o any issues. That was before I saw that the dates have been extended.

I'm not surprised that they're extending it. I read on bloomberg that the reservations - while better are still not where they want them only 6% lower than normal vs. 10% when they started in November so despite limited room availability they're still not booking as many people as they want. Whether this will translate into fewer in the parks is questionable as people may be getting much better deals elsewhere.

We travel all over and stay in Hilton hotels a lot when we travel because we can usually get a suite there for less than we can get two rooms in a cheaper hotel. (We're going to spend the big bucks when we got to WDW and stay YC - I'm hoping we won't feel cramped all in STD room). I got a call from Hilton offering me (as a preferred customer) 7 days for $500 at the hotel in DTD with other discounts and free breakfast. I didn't book because although cheaper I refuse to succumb to high pressure sales - I was told you must book now to secure this rate so I couldn't call back after thinking about it or looking at the hotel reviews on the net, etc. But I'm sure the Hilton is not the only hotel offering these kinds of deals. When I got off the phone I looked up the hotel and it's $206/night for the Jr. Suite which is their room for 5 people. Anyway, many people may feel if you can stay in the DTD Hilton in a suite for $500 for a week why would you stay in a cramped room at POP or pay extra for BWI or Poly and still spend a week in the parks.

What I would like is for them to add the $200 GC to reservations later in the booking period :cheer2: like say May. :cool1:

It'll save them $$$ on new commericals, too (my girls come running every time they hear the music start to play - lol!).
