Just in case I am not able to post tomorrow. I want to wish everyone safe and happy travels. We just can't wait to met everyone. I can't believe it is finally here , OMG ! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Snoopytoo and Grumpychook , have fun , it's so nice you are going to be able to met before the ruise . Please have a cocktail for me :drinking1 :drinking1

Sue718 , I decided to fill out only what I knew on the forms and leave the rest for we when we can have some help with them at the port , I don't want to screw anything up .

Anyone planning on having their clothes pressed on the ship? I think I read it was around $40 to have everythihg done?

Maria, have a safe trip! You are leaving tomorrow aren't you? Also Mom2cobysyd! You too! WOW! They are leaving the nest going to the cruise! Have a great time and enjoy the weather! We'll be there soon enough!!!

Who ever said I survived???

Anyways, the party was awesome! I have tons of pics but no time to post.

I just lost my entire weekend. I am soooo screwed!!!! STRESSS is killing me.

TT everyone leaving!

AWWWWWWWWGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well. It feels a little lonely around here doesn't it? Don't know why, but the activity really does seem to be slowing as people gradually drift southward. Exciting, yet strange...

Busy weekend here too. Rainy weather in the NE, but still managed to get in softball practices and last minute shopping. Still don't know what I'm wearing for Palo, but I'll figure something out. If nothing else, I have plenty of shoes! :lmao:

Snoops and Grumps - have a safe trip, and we'll be seeing you soon.

CG: I can't believe you hosted a big party this weekend. You're very ambitious. My DD birthday is coming up week after cruise and I've done nothing for her. I feel pretty guilty about that, but I've had no time. Not to mention she wants a Jessie McCartney party. Ummm let's see...sure just let me put in a call to him and see if we can get him over. :rotfl2: I keep tossing the idea of setting something up on the ship for her, but I really don't know what my options are. We'll see...

Suzie: Mexican??? Pregnancy and mexican just didn't mix for me. Even the thought of anything remotely mexican- well- you know? You go girl!

Tom: I will see if I can't get the eggman out of his nest. He has been helping the female hatchling with her school project this weekend. He has very good paternal instincts. Kinda like March of the Penguins. (while I go off and shop for shoes) :lmao:

ITM: How's A? Hope she's doing better. Kids must be getting psyched now!

Hope all is well everyone! Night, night, sleep tight!

SUEegg

&%^!#&@*!!!! I was getting things ready for the kids to go back to school tomorrow after them having the past week off. I pick up Jared's backpack, and it feels really heavy :confused3 . I look inside and there is a big folder full of work his teacher sent home ( per my request) that he will miss while we are away :sad2: :sad2: !!!! Earlier in the week I asked him if he had any work other than the 2 mini books she had sent home already. He said no, not that he was lying, he simply never looked in the manilla folder she sent the extra work home in. I guess it is partly my fault since I know my son I should have checked myself. So at 8:00 when I had just sent him to bed I got him back up to do it. I think he realized how much hot water he was in because he worked for an hour without complaint and got it almost all done. Tomorrow we will be spending the evening doing a timeline of his life project! Just when I thought I was so on top of things.

OOF! Schoolwork....poor kid! So sorry to hear about that! YUCK!

CG - was wondering if we'd see you this weekend...wondered if you'd have enough sanity, was more like it! You're the WOMAN! Look at you, partied out and still posting! Get some sleep, girlie. You're gonna need it for this week.

Sue - good to see you back here, too! Shoe shopping....not my favorite thing at all.....especially when I hate the shoe styles out there! Mexican....doesn't really bother me, just that I ate too much and am paying for it! Stomach pump anyone?!?!?!

Get this! Ed has to drive to PA on Tuesday! One last trip for the boss before he goes! HA! Thursday is his last day of employment and I guess she's trying to get everything out of him she can before she has to pay corporate rates to him! :lmao:
But at least he gets to fly back that night. No over nights, but still! Geez!

Everyone have a good night!

Good evening, everyone! (everyone who hasn't left yet, that is!!)

Sorry, I haven't posted for like a week now... been reading and trying to keep up but I'm like CG--totally stressing!!!! It's mostly about packing and all the $$$ we're spending, both pre-trip and for the trip, but I know I'll enjoy it!!

I think the main reason I'm stressing is that this whole dressing for dinner, formal, semi-formal and Palo thing is just way more than we're used to out here in the Wild Wild (north)West. The fanciest vacation meal we've ever had was Chefs de France and that was in the daytime and everyone wore shorts, LOL! Other than Emma's pageant dress, neither of my kids own anything remotely formal (nor does Isaac, Mike's cruising buddy) until some very recent shopping, that is! I know it's going to be fine, but trying to convince a 12-yo why you can't just wear black skateboard shoes to a formal dinner (among other 'discussions') is stressful. Isaac showed up the other day after he & his dad went shopping for cruise stuff and he had bought a nice pair of white running shoes, thinking that would do for formal night. :scared: Are we hicks or what?!? :lmao:

So I'm gong to get going again and keep plugging away at this but first a few comments:

Sorry I missed Barb & Pat leaving, but Nikki & Maria and anyone else who's on their way, travel safely and we'll be seeing you SO VERY SOON!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

WELCOME Tiggersister!! I do believe wet noodle lashes are in order for you though, dear!! We're all on the final countdown and would've loved to have more time to get to know you before the cruise! :grouphug: My cruising buddy & I are both moms traveling w/kids and without spouses. Hopefully we'll get to visit with you and your sis on board.

PJ & CG-- :worship: I bow to your bravery and dedication to your children. You're both such great moms, whether or not you 'survived' the parties! :teeth:

April--THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! This is just what I needed to get myself mentally ready for this cruise!

Suzie, if you still have time, GET THE PEDICURE! It's waaay less weird than a full body massage, I'm sure. I love pedicures... OHJulie (was it OHJulie?) was right, you soak your feet in warm sudsy water, sometimes bubbling like a jacuzzi, and sometimes with marbles in the bottom of the tub to roll your feet on, before they ever touch them. I love it...my fave OPI color for pedicures is "Holy Pink Pagoda" lol. Can't wait to see the haircut, honey! You too, Shy!

Ok, I better run. Sorry if I missed commenting on anything, guys--I really did mean this to be a "quickie"! I'll try to get on more this week and see everyone off good and proper like. I can't believe we'll all be together in less than a week!! party:

I love that this thread starts with your first post, B&RsMom, that says:

571 days seems like so far away, but hopefully time will fly by and before I know it we'll be sipping two-for-one drinks on deck 10 and saying "James, another round"!!!
I know it's been said before, but .... "I'm too excited to sleep!"

I know it's been said before, but .... "I'm too excited to sleep!"

That is what I will be saying soon- I know I won't be able to sleep tonight- excitement, stress, all of it because we leave tomorrow! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I wanted to post tonight in case I don't get a chance tomorrow. I can't wait to meet the first Dis'r (maybe Barb or Jewelgrl since they are also at Pop Century).

I will have my eyes wide open looking for those green wrist bands in the Port! I also printed off the Roses information for the meet so we will see you there. If anyone is going to the Mickey Pool when they first board, that is where we will be. I am getting so excited just typing about it.

Well, I spent all day getting ready and am exhausted. I wish everyone safe travels and MAGIC here we come!

Good Night,
Nikki

That's my mantra as well. I've got a pre-vacation routine of counting out my vitamin pills as a countdown to departure - 5 mornings left. I can't stand it!!

Tomorrow - last bit of shopping.

We're staying Friday night at SSR - anyone else staying there by any chance? Disney transportation to the port on Saturday - we decided that we're happy with our dining plans and such and want to let Disney do all the work. Hard for me to let go of control, but change is good for vacation!

Good rest, everyone!

:rolleyes1 Sigh - well Rubsymom I guess you are right -- Wet noodle lashes I do deserve  . I actually came up with a better punishment - - I'll just need to go on another cruise and get on the boards quicker next time - what do you think?

Still trying to figure out how I'll know anybody when I am on the ship. You will all have to wear signs. Maybe there were hints in earlier posts but frankly I wasn't up to reading 279 pages of posts in the last few days.

I guess I'll keep my eyes open for the most cheerful people on board.

Everyone's leaving! You lucky ducks!!

We spent the day sitting. Seriously, with all we have to do, we spent today on our tushes. First of all, I decided to get a pedicure. Since I didn't want to drive with wet tootsies, I decided that poor Jon had to go with me. Oh, yes. Pirates LOVE sitting in a nail salon. No matter that he's been sick all week, it's all about meeeeeeee, so he graciously agrees to drive me to the salon. (I don't deserve this man). Anyway, I'm thinking it is going to be a 30-minute appt, after all, how long can a pedicure take? Oooohhhh noooooo, I get to be the VERY FIRST PEDICURE for this brand new salon. Oh, joy. The first pedicure. Ever.

Two and a half hours later, they are finally done. Two 1/2 hours! My poor husband is asleep in the chair. I'm walking on my heels to the car, we get on our way, and realize I left my sunglasses in the salon. Back we go. Now it's a 3 hour excursion. We head home.....and I realize that I have ordered a pair of shoes from Nordie's and this is the only day that we will be in the area before we leave. So now we have to head downtown to Nordstrom's, which means another 30 minutes on our tushes fighting traffic. Parking in Portland is horrendous, which means I have to hop out, (still walking on my heels with wet toes) and run in while Jon circles and circles and circles.... One extra long line and frazzled clerk later, I get my shoes and realize I can't even try them on without ruining the pedicure, so I hobble back up....just in time to see Jon go by. He's been circling so many times that he finally decides to take a longer route. Now I see him blocks away....Now I see him going the other way....I'm waving at him....the wind starts to blow and now I have a layer of dirt on my wet nails..... He finally gets thru the one-way-street h*ll that is Portland so I can trip over my big feet getting into the car. So much for my $75 pedicure that I could have done myself in 10 minutes.

So now we're on our way home, after our 4 hour excursion, and it occurs to me that I haven't even fed him! We're starving, we've already wasted 4 hours on meeeee, so I decide to feed the boy at Applebee's. Oh, what's another hour when all he wants to do is go home and take a nap? This is for him, not meeeeee! Needless to say, it wasn't the best meal, there was sticky stuff all over the booth, and when I look down, I realize that there is some sort of flaky stuff all over my legs! Apparently it is some sort of seaweed extract leftover from the pedicure and now it is all over my legs, all over the booth, and yes, when we go back to our car, we realize it is all over the car seat too.

So now we've had a wonderful 5 1/2 hour excursion, the Pirate is exhausted and sick, and we have seaweed all over the carseats.

We get home, Jon goes in to take a well-deserved nap, and I go to Walgreens with my list of cruise essentials, as well as seaweed extract remover and carseat cleaner, finally get home.....and instead of taking a nap, he has done 2 loads of laundry! I don't deserve this man!

So, now we are sitting on our tushes watching the tele. It's still sitting, but it's more comfortable than the spa bench, the car, and sticky buns in the sticky booth. We can't wait to relax, relax, relax. We may never leave the verandah.

Suzie, forget what they say. Ixnay the pedicure.

The Wench

Actually, you can find many of us by the green bands around our wrists. CG and SuzieVA (I think) organized the band drive so we could find each other. I also hear there's a send-off gathering on Deck 10 after the lifeboat drill.

Given the energy of the board posters, I'm sure most of us will be hunted down and brought into the fold at one point or another!

:wizard: You all won't believe it, but we are finally packed!!!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :bounce: Well, with everything except the few things we'll need between now and when we leave. I think it took me something like 5 or 6 hours. Having to figure out which stuff will fit in what size bag, had to do it a few times. I just know I packed way too much and we probably won't wear but 1/3 of it. I was super stressed earlier today with all I need to get done. The list is slowly growing shorter though. All that's left is to pick up a couple of things I forgot at the store-wrinkle release spray and waterproof disposable camera. And to make sure the neighbors can come check in on the pups.

Oh yeah, I was gonna ask you all if you are taking beach towels? We're going to Trunk Bay on our own so not sure if we take our own or you can take some off the ship, and if so are they big enough? Yet another thing to stuff in the suitcases if needed.

Trish
-Glad you like the cds!

Well, I'm off to bed. I am excited like you all, but also soooo tired I don't think I'll have a problem falling asleep. Wishing everyone cruising dreams.

Hi all,

Can't sleep...so I'm the first one up and on the boards. I go to bed thinking about the cruise and I wake up thinking about the cruise. Don't know what I'll ever do with my life once this is behind me. It's all we talk about here amongst us in our little RI group.

Well spring break is over and it's back to work this am until Friday. We'll be leaving immediately after school gets out since were making the hour drive into Boston for a 7:30 flight. Hope the rush hour traffic isn't too horrendous! :scared1:

Wecome Tigger, we're always happy to see newbies up here. ps. We will be the happiest bunch on the ship, there's no doubt about that! Also, if you look for Speedos and Spandex you'll be sure to spot the men in our group. Right Steve, Eggman, Tom, Pango, et.al. :confused3

Well have a great day everyone. Try to post tonight - we'll see....

TTFN

Good Morning Everyone. I have to agree with SUEegg, go to sleep thinking, wake up thinking. I will be so happy when Friday gets here. I think the other part to this is we get to meet each other after all this time talking about it. Sadly, just a few more days seems like a longer time then 14 days did..... ;)

We got some packing done, but I bet it is going to be last minute marathon session. Oh well, not like we have not done it before. Withut ids, I am sure it is easier. Yes, she packs for me for most part. Mainly becuase two of us running around the bedroom is no fun when one can sit and watch. Secondly, I am color blind, well fashion wise I am.

Well it is off to work I go.

Good morning everyone!

Well, it looks like the "I'm too excited to sleep" sickness has hit our house. My DD was up till midnight last night - she said that she had too much stuff going on in her brain to sleep.

Glad to see that we will not be the only ones traveling Friday evening. Our flight is at 6:50 - we plan to leave as soon as my DD gets off the bus and have dinner at the airport.

I believe that my packing is done. Of course, I said that yesterday and my DS laughed at me - I can't imagine why?

OHJulie :wave2:

When I started this thread it was way back on 10/4/04 and we had 571 more days!!! I can't believe that we're finally down to 5 days now!!!!!
