Hey, everyone--back from the garage sale. It's a benefit to cover expenses for caring for my uncle who's dying of throat/tongue cancer (mentioned awhile back). I'm not as involved as my mom & aunt. My mom has taken him into her home to care for him, along with one of his daughters. My mom & aunt put on this garage sale to raise money for travel expenses and such. Mom has spent most of her savings for non-medical expenses for him, and has missed a ton of work (thank goodness they have shared leave at her work) so this will help a lot. He knows that any care at this point is just prolonging the inevitable and I sure wish I knew where he was emotionally, but he can't speak anymore and his eyes don't say enough, y'know? I'm glad he's got lots of family nearby to show they love him.
Sue! I can't even tell you how sorry I am that you aren't going on the cruise.

Of course you MUST get better soon, but it's just too awful to think about you and Jon not being there with us. When I first heard from Suzie, I thought, well pneumonia can be taken care of quickly with good rest and meds and all, and they simply can't
not go! But it sounds like more than just your average pneumonia, and I'm just sick about you not being able to go!! (I know I'm repeating myself, but I feel speechless and shocked about all this!) Jon, you are a dear and I know you'll take good care of Sue and help her to a quick thorough recovery! Laughter is the best medicine, as they say, and you two are so full of fun that Sue is practically guaranteed to recover quickly!
And
Pat!! OMG, you and your sis have GOT to get better! Just take extra special care of yourselves and get rested. Have you packed yet? If not, never fear, youre not alonewere all doing the last minute shuffle. Packing can be done in 1 day if absolutely necessary, so just relax, rest up and get yourselves healed up for this cruise, girls!
No, Im certainly not packed yet. Suzie & I had too much fun to do anything actually productive
then again, there was the Eggman investigation and that Truck Accessory photo and
anyway, Ill be actively working on it this week, I promise!!
Pango, you did a bang-up job on those pics, thanks for keeping the dream alive, man!!
But I do want to say
WELCOME BACK Tuggles!! And
Julie, that Astropirate pic was too perfect! Houston, we have a problem
ARRRGGH! Welcome,
Barry!
CG, no standard bday gift
at my kids ages, the giftcard seems to be gaining popularity, so lacking in creativity and yet so versatile! I did have a regular baby shower gift for awhile there, thoughthe Diaper Genie. It seemed like such a good idea at the time
now Im back to cute baby outfits which again is lacking in creativity but so fun to shop for. Im dying, herewhat is your standard bday gift? Can it be publicly disclosed or no?
Snoopyto, how on earth did you get the 35.99?? I can imagine at a Motel 6, maybe but the Radisson?
.Im very impressed! We are near the parks. Check the database and you can PM people staying near you. When you said the keywest camera, do you mean youre staying near KeyWest? Forgive my ignorance, but that sounds too far away from the port?? ....Anyway, can't wait to see your costume! Is DW dressing up too? We wenches must stick together, y'know!
Im going to show my DS the Tweens/Teens thread today and see if I can get him set up. Our Spring Break is this week, so it will be a good time for him to start posting, not sure who else has break this week?
Anyway, better run. Miss you guys already Suzie & Tori!! I'm so sorry you've got such a headache today...feel better honey!
I just can't wait to meet you
ALL on this cruise!!
PS I didnt weigh in this past Friday, partly because Suzie & I needed time to hit the latte stand before heading to the airport

and partly because we hit the latte stand (along with many other calorie-laden places including Tim Horton's in Vancouver BC)
too many times for me to be able to face the numbers this week. Time to get back on the wagon and try for another pound or two in the VERY SHORT time we have left before the cruise!
