Hey everyone!

My DS has set up a thread for all of the kids and teens that will be going on the cruise. He thought that it would be nice if they could all chat as well. If your kids are interested please have them check out the "Teens and Tweens 4/29" thread in Cruise Meets.

OHJulie :wave2:

Hey Julie...what a great idea! I showed Kyle's thread to Lindsey and she couldn't wait to get in on the action! Now she will finally understand what her parents do in front of the computer for hours and hours each day (and night)!!! Thanks!!!!!

Pat - I can't believe what you have had to go through! Just think though - you have a great excuss to lounge and eat, lounge and eat, all week.

My doctor said that theres something to be said for sitting around a pool with a fuzzy drink with an umbrella in it. Not to mention that Cabana Boy :teeth:

Sue and Jon, you are going to be greatly missed. Your wit and humor was one of the things I was looking forward to.

Tom and Julie, glad to hear you had a great vaca. Nothing like practicing for the real thing.

Suzie, loved your tulip pictures. Tulips are my favorite flower. I even bought myself some before I had surgery. They always seem to have a life of their own.

CG, sorry to hear you will miss out on the extra days of vacation. You'll have to make up for it on the Magic.

Ohso, I'm soooo jealous of your reaching your goal weight.....Good going :cheer2: :cheer2: You'd think I would have lost weight having surgery.....but oh no.....they might have cut the hernia out, but I still have an appetite and can't exercise. I just hope I can hold steady with what I've already lost.

My TA said I would have my documents this coming week.... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . What kind of packaging do they come in?

Just wanted to take some time out of my busy schedule of being a full time Dad and PT astronaut to say HELLO ! Looking forward to meeting you all on the cruise.

Sadly, it looks like no cruise for The Roses. I have pneumonia, plus sepsis, plus a big pocket of pus in my lung. I am still in the coronary care step-down and even if I could get out of here in the next week or so, I will still need IV antibiotics several times a day for weeks. Besides my infectious disease docs would never let me get on a cruise ship with a bazillion children, much less leave the country.

I feel horrible; this was our long-awaited 10th anniversary trip. I've never been more exited about a trip, and all because you guys are so much fun. We were really looking forward to sharing our "hospitality suite" with you.

Sue

Sue & Jon....I can't believe that you guys will not be cruising with us... :guilty: :sad1: And I can't believe how something that seemed like the flu turned into something so much worse...our thoughts and prayers will be with you thru your recovery...and maybe we can call you during the sail-away party so we can toast you and so you can hear the ships horn blow (just like at your mini-meet last week)...not the same, but that way you'll know that you are being missed!

Well, well well.....you guys have been busy while I've been away. Have to say I wasn't on vacation.

I had surgery last week and have been flat on my back . I somehow got an unbilical hernia that I noticed about three weeks ago. I'd say it has something to do with that C-section I had 25 years ago. Always need to blame it on the kids It was either go on the cruise nursing a hernia that was very painful and bothersome or get it fixed and go on the cruise nursing an incision. Needless to say, I won't be doing any bungee jumping this trip. I'm on the mend and should be back to work by the end of next week.

Pat...I can't beleive you were so sick either...but I am glad that you'll be recovered in time to enjoy the cruise...man, we decide to go away for a few days and have some fun in the sun and this is what we come back to?!?!

Great to have another Pirate pirate: on board, Welcome fellow Pirate.

Now if we could only get HeadGear Pat to post something we would be allset.

Good work Julie. But what is up with the PT astronaunt?

So anyone else staying at the Raddison Friday night. I was looking on the keywest camera admiring our temporary home in 3 weeks.

We got our spa appointments fnally all booked. Think I am going to go ahead and pay for some shipboard credit to cover the 'OTher 1/2 of the cruise' . I just know with all the spa fees one can get broke really fast. But the good part is we set up our times so they are at sea days. So no real rushing for anything.

Now the next thing to do is get W into the whirlpool at quite cove. She hates bromine. This is going to be a fun trip for us.

You can call me Peg Leg Barry!

ah, you jest young pirate, you! But so good to see you Peg Leg Barry!!!!

OK - can I just tell you all how amazingly depressing this catch up was.

Sue, you have to be joking - really, you just have to be. I am devestated and super worried about you. I absolutely can not believe what you are telling us. Please take care of yourself! This is amazingly bad news. :guilty: You are going to be fine and you will get a very nice cruise at some point in the very near future.

Pat - I have a funny name hernia too. But it's stays put and they tell me it's fine. It's in my stomach. I totally blame my son for that one - so please, go ahead and blame children. I hope your recovery is speedy and trust me when I tell you, don't even joke about wheelchairs on board. I spent 3 days in one on our last cruise and that SUCKED! Get better fast so you don't have to use one!

Gotta run to a birthday party - I will try and check back in later today.

Do any of you all have a standard birthday pary gift? We have been going to one every weekend for the past 5 weeks and I just get the same thing every time. Seems to be liked, works fine, and I don't have to think. That's a good thing for this blond.

Pat ours came in a Disney
envelope . Nothing fancy. Thanks so much for the compliment, you have no idea how happy I am , I even bought myslef a bunch of new clothes. I have never been big , good skinny genes I guess but I was a little more then I use to be. I have worked so darn hard thou, and ONLY drinking water. We were excited to learn that the gym at AKL is free to guests so I will have to utilize that if I want to fit into my dress.

WOOHOO , Barry finally posted after all my nagging , he's been lurking for months now and it's about time  . Ihave been walking around tha house calling him Peg Leg Barry :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It's dinner and a movie night for us . My sister got us a dinner package from Kirby's resturant and a movie , the girls are coming along too and guess what we get to see , yup, it's Ice Age 2, I don't think I've seen an adult movie in decades!

Opps I forgot to sign in under my name , thats my post !

Sorry I haven't been around today. Didn't sleep good last night and twisted my back trying to sleep. Finally got out of bed around 12:30 this afternoon and have been such a bed slug....feel like I could sleep the day away.

As far as flowers, with Sue being in ICU, they don't allow them. Or at least that the rule at our hospitals. Actually, they don't allow balloons either. Something about bringing in germs or being germ collectors. I would love to have sent either but would hate that she couldn't keep them. I think the cards are the best thing right now.

Trying to get my head wrapped around our final packing. We're trying to limit the number of bags because of space. We'll do laundry at least once on the ship. So don't be suprised if you see me wearing the same outfit a couple of times! Unlike Ohso I will only be bringing two swimsuits. Figured one can be drying while I'm wearing the other. Just don't want to overpack and it's not like I'm trying to impress anyone with my oversized prego body!

CG- where have you been? Can't remember if you posted that you wouldn't be around....my brain is shot these last couple of days, so do forgive me.

Barry, good to see you on board.

Ulittletinker - do you still want me to send that formal to you? I need your address (I forgot to get it from Trish). Let me know and I'll get it in the mail asap!

Trish is with family in Olympia this weekend helping with a family yardsale. Just wanted to let everyone know so they don't worry about her.

Trying to do my door sign tonight but just really don't know where to begin! I want it to be just right and perfect. After all, that's what a perfectionist does, right?!

Getting a headache so gotta take some tylenol and lay down. Lordy, make the pounding stop!!!

Pat, I hate to hear about your hernia! I just thought you were super busy or I would have called you to make sure you were okay. Missed you on the boards!

Sue - please get well. I just can't tell you how much we will miss you guys on the cruise, but totally understandable. Tori was sad to hear the Captain Jon the Pirate won't be sailing with us. She really liked you both so much - even though she was acting so bratty! Got to excuse her behaviour.....

Ok, gotta go. The lights are kaleidascoping in front of my eyes.....I feel a migraine coming on.....

Well I just got yelled out. DW has just very lax about the trip. I talked to her about the Door Sign. I don't have the artsy gene, never could do the color wheel in school. Sommer claim she doesn't, but she does. But she does love to sew. So when I told her about pirate night. Oh My Gosh!! I got chewed out because she doesn't have time to make a costume at her leisure. Anyhow, think I am going to have a good pirate costume.

Hey, everyone--back from the garage sale. It's a benefit to cover expenses for caring for my uncle who's dying of throat/tongue cancer (mentioned awhile back). I'm not as involved as my mom & aunt. My mom has taken him into her home to care for him, along with one of his daughters. My mom & aunt put on this garage sale to raise money for travel expenses and such. Mom has spent most of her savings for non-medical expenses for him, and has missed a ton of work (thank goodness they have shared leave at her work) so this will help a lot. He knows that any care at this point is just prolonging the inevitable and I sure wish I knew where he was emotionally, but he can't speak anymore and his eyes don't say enough, y'know? I'm glad he's got lots of family nearby to show they love him.

Sue! I can't even tell you how sorry I am that you aren't going on the cruise. Of course you MUST get better soon, but it's just too awful to think about you and Jon not being there with us. When I first heard from Suzie, I thought, well pneumonia can be taken care of quickly with good rest and meds and all, and they simply can't not go! But it sounds like more than just your average pneumonia, and I'm just sick about you not being able to go!! (I know I'm repeating myself, but I feel speechless and shocked about all this!) Jon, you are a dear and I know you'll take good care of Sue and help her to a quick thorough recovery! Laughter is the best medicine, as they say, and you two are so full of fun that Sue is practically guaranteed to recover quickly!

And Pat!! OMG, you and your sis have GOT to get better! Just take extra special care of yourselves and get rested. Have you packed yet? If not, never fear, you’re not alone—we’re all doing the last minute shuffle. Packing can be done in 1 day if absolutely necessary, so just relax, rest up and get yourselves healed up for this cruise, girls!

No, I’m certainly not packed yet. Suzie & I had too much fun to do anything actually productive…then again, there was the Eggman investigation and that Truck Accessory photo and …anyway, I’ll be actively working on it this week, I promise!!

Pango, you did a bang-up job on those pics, thanks for keeping the dream alive, man!!
But I do want to say WELCOME BACK Tuggles!! And Julie, that Astropirate pic was too perfect! “Houston, we have a problem…ARRRGGH!” Welcome, Barry! pirate:

CG, no standard bday gift…at my kids ages, the giftcard seems to be gaining popularity, so lacking in creativity and yet so versatile! I did have a regular baby shower gift for awhile there, though—the Diaper Genie. It seemed like such a good idea at the time… now I’m back to cute baby outfits which again is lacking in creativity but so fun to shop for. I’m dying, here—what is your standard bday gift? Can it be publicly disclosed or no?

Snoopyto, how on earth did you get the 35.99?? I can imagine at a Motel 6, maybe but the Radisson?….I’m very impressed! We are near the parks. Check the database and you can PM people staying near you. When you said the keywest camera, do you mean you’re staying near KeyWest? Forgive my ignorance, but that sounds too far away from the port?? ....Anyway, can't wait to see your costume! Is DW dressing up too? We wenches must stick together, y'know!

I’m going to show my DS the Tweens/Teens thread today and see if I can get him set up. Our Spring Break is this week, so it will be a good time for him to start posting, not sure who else has break this week?

Anyway, better run. Miss you guys already Suzie & Tori!! I'm so sorry you've got such a headache today...feel better honey!

I just can't wait to meet you ALL on this cruise!!

PS I didnt weigh in this past Friday, partly because Suzie & I needed time to hit the latte stand before heading to the airport :thumbsup2 and partly because we hit the latte stand (along with many other calorie-laden places including Tim Horton's in Vancouver BC) too many times for me to be able to face the numbers this week. Time to get back on the wagon and try for another pound or two in the VERY SHORT time we have left before the cruise!

Suzie ,thank you for the offer, I was able to find something.

Julie! That would be very nice of you if you could get us 2 chairs as We will be slow in making it to the beach. My mom is doing better since her knee replacement but her back is now acting up she has to go to the dr 2 days before the cruise for an injection so that she can actually stand halfway straight without pain.

I am not sure if the poster still has that Palo reservation available for Wednesday but if you do could you let me know if you'd be willing to trade it for Thursday?

20 more days!

Ruby- The actual price is $105, but figuring I have to pay to park the tank at the Port, that takes out 70.00 of the 105.00. So It works out to the 34.99 price. I didn't notice anyone staying there in the database, but I do know they are sold out.

Yes DW will be dressing up. She dresses good and has the attributes of a good wench. This will be a new experience for me. I used to have bad Hyperthyroid problem, but it is not under control, so I am not so self conscious as I used to be. I think she will enjoy that. Fun stuff together and such.

Well, we made the sad call to Disney this morning.

Pat, think about calling DCL and requesting a handicapped room. Our suite is now available, and if there aren't any other HC rooms left, they may give you that one. (Not all suites are HC, but this one was). The bathrooms are larger and have benches in the showers, which might be helpful given your recent surgery. And you will need extra room in the stateroom for the wheelchair.

AAAARRRRR pirate:
Actually it's more like a sad little aaaarrrrrr......

The good news is that today Sue's temp was the lowest it has been in a week!

The PAHW

I am so sorry you guys had to make that call. I hope you get to feeling better and you can start planning the replacement cruise.

Snoopyto , we are also dressing up for Pirate night DH will be happy to hear another guy is. I hope he leaves the spandex home thou.

Oh Sue , I'm sorry this happened to you. I wish you well.

No door sign for us , I'm the least craftiest person ever. I am still debating on the one they offer through Disney. The welcome aboard package.

OMG Holly is sick AGAIN , she said she was cold all through dinner , but seemed to be fine at the movie , OH the movie is so cute. When we got home she only wanted to come in lay down and get warm, she has a fever.

Suzie , I hope you and Tori are feeling better soon . What with all this sickness? I am thinking 7 swimsuits is way too much too Suzie but I'm counting 16 days we will be away , I think it will be more like 4, hopefully. I asked Barry if he wouldn't mind doing some laundry at ALK on Friday since we will just be hanging around. I really don't want too many suitcases because I know cruise ship cabins are not that big.

Good night everyone!
