Julie -Love the pictures! THANKS!

We saw "the 40 year old virgin" this weekend. Have any of you seen it? There were some funny parts, but I was expecting more laughs. Definitely don't want the kids in the room for this movie!

My husband loves Steve Carell but we haven't seen it yet.

I am back from the sickies............I think.

Belle&RellasMom - you just went nuts with the 40 cause you have that big event coming up in your house, right?????

Tom, we'll coordinate whatever. I was just kidding about the pool. We won't have time to partake. We'll just meet for dinner in the restaurant. We'll do particulars at more like, 20 days, when you all get back from your first jaunt to Florida!!!!

mketting, nice to see you back - glad you had a good time. I think the tunnels are particularly cool myself.

Quinn's tux off ebay fits perfectly but the shirt has a stain in exactly where a toddler would get a stain. I am hoping to get it out prior to the cruise.

I bought myself a gown that is gorgeous off ebay too recently and it doesn't fit across my chest, but I am hoping to maybe shave off the inch or so by cruise time so I am keeping it. It is so perfect and matches Catrina's dress. It's my little motivator, kinda like a bikini would be for some lucky people. I am not that motivated!

Suzie - can you post a meet matrix over at Yahoo - only for the meets on the ship?

I am in for the Roses party. I will have baby in tow, though. She gets babysat at 5:30 that evening, but I couldn't get earlier. She's a party girl, though. Thank you!!!!

I also want to join the Belle&Rellafam and whoever else at the Margarita tasting. So, I am hoping that maybe we can set Flounders for a little earlier that evening so both of us can do it.

My husband had a friend over and was talking about Disney World. This surprised me as he loves the place, but rarely ever talks about it. Since I saved us around $2000 on airfare, I convinced him we should use the money we saved and go to WDW before the cruise. Airfare doesn't cost anymore if you stay longer. HE SAID YES!!! :cheer2: Did I ever mention how much I love that man. Although my brother-in-law was quick to point out that we didn't save the money, we are just spending it somewhere else. You have to know his sense of humour! :lmao:

So where do we sign up for meets at WDW before the cruise?

Shymatthews: I'm sending your cheque for the bracelets today. Sorry it took so long. I just couldn't seem to make it into town when the bank was open. I need a job that has hours like that. It was cheaper for me to get the US cheque made at the bank than a money order at the post office. Still cost me over $20 CND for the bracelets, but I love them. Just think if our money wasn't at an all time high right now. Last time we went to WDW our money was at $0.64. I guess that's why it took us almost 3 years to go back.

We primed Brittany's room last night, so hopefully it will be ready for this weekend when her friend comes to stay for spring break. I have always hated plastering, and I had the brillant idea of putting the rounded corners on the windows instead of a normal squared-off corner. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Nobody but myself to blame. The professionals can do it quick I'm sure, but I worked on that blasted window for 4 days. Just the window. Did I mention how much I hate plastering!! I still have 5 more windows to go, but hopefully I'm learning as I go and it won't take as long.

Thanks for letting me rant. I just kept telling myself that I was doing the work so that we could spend the money at Disney. It helped a bit, but I still really hate plastering. ;)

So where do we sign up for meets at WDW before the cruise?
Barb! That is so great!!! WOOHOO!! Check out the yahoo site and there is a poll for the park side meet-n-greet! Hope you can make it!

CG- So glad you are feeling better- don't you hate it, whenever the kids are sick they always seem to give it to mom too! Also, I love WW. This is how I lost my after baby weight with Coby (still working on the after baby weight with Sydney). I am a VERY picky eater (and hate cooked vegetables) so most diets would not work for me unless I starved. WW allowed me to eat pasta and other things that I loved as long as they were within my points range. It did teach me to make sacrifices on food choices which eventually paid off on losing weight. I am watching points now for my cruise diet but I am doing it on my own and not going to meetings. I have lost 11 lbs over the last couple months and am happy about fitting into the clothes I wore before I had Sydney. I would like to lose 4 more pounds for the cruise but it is getting harder as I am at that plateau point. The one thing that helps is having pressure from others (DH, etc.) that keeps you on your toes. Good Luch with it as I am sure you will do great!

Suzie- I would also appreciate a Cruise Meets Matrix on the other site (with details as I am a little confused aft, starboard, etc???) :confused3

Roses- You are so kind to offer up your cabin for a meet. We would love to try and be there (I hate to commit to anything without knowing how the kids will be in the clubs). This is our first cruise with kids so we will be adjusting to their needs but hopefully get to fulfill some of our own too!

Tom- Good Luck at the Warrior Classic! Let us know the results. We have a Quaker Steak and Lube fairly close but have never been. I guess we need to try it! We tend to go to BW3's because it is so close and I love their Chili Con Queso dip- YUM! We also liked their boneless Thai wings (wet) but they just recently took that flavor away :sad2: so I don't know what we do.

Everyone: I need help!!! I am very organized (sometimes a little anal about it  ) and am creating our cruise matrix for the trip. The only Navigators I can find are from December. Has anyone found any from 2006??? I would really like our cruise matrix to be a little more accurate as I think the ones on the DIS have Christmas activities . Anyone who may have found recent ones, please please please respond with a link to where I can see them. THANKS SO MUCH.

:boat: :boat: :boat: :boat:

 HI there - I was just thinking to myself that you had been gone for a while now and needed to be drawn back to the thread.

Oh, I do really like WW - it is teaching me to watch it! I would eat well, but just waaaaay too much. I now need to add the gym in too. This first weigh in is going to be huge - but not every week will I have the added benefit of losing two days down the porcelain throne. :guilty:

No, there's no new navigators out there. lbgraves keeps saying that the activities haven't changed, but I am skeptical. I think they need to put a call out for more people to bring some home with them and scan them in for the DIS. It's not that hard to do.

That's why I always say that it's good to use the navigators to get an idea of the flow of the days rather than specific events. It provides you with an idea that there is usally a tasting at 2pm and 4pm on sea days, there is usually some non-event on the St. Maarten night as that is the Pirate night, there is usually a movie on the dumbotron at 2pm and then late at night, etc.

I think that I am looking at old navigators also. I am sooo in on the margarita and tequila tasting, but I don't see it on the navigator that I have.

The one that I have from December shows Beer and Wine tastings on Monday and Martini tastings on Sunday and Thursday.

We may just have to wait and find out when we actually get there! The horror - how can those of us who are extreme planners function?!!

There are probably enough of us for DCL to schedule us DISers our own tastings! I think they only hold about 12 people at at time isn't it?

Barb

With all the interest in the Margarita tasting on Monday along with some other things, I need to talk with the Roses about possibly changing the wine/cheese meet to Sunday or later Monday (4:30-5:00 ish). Any suggestions? I'd totally forgotten these when we originally planned this. See, I told you I needed my spreadsheet!!!! So lost without it!

Suzie,

I'm over at the site now and can't find anything about the meets at WDW. Where do I find it?

Barb

go into POLLS on the left side. It will take you to the two polls (one for park side and one for port side). Click on the park side one and you will be able to see the different choices....we haven't made a decision yet because I'm HOPING that more people join in. If there is nothing more in the next few weeks (let's say April 1) then the poll will close and a decision will be made. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I will be doing a cruise meet matrix or schedule in the FILE group once we get some things straightened out. Just keep reminding me!!! I'd lose my head these days if it wasn't attached!!!

I convinced him we should use the money we saved and go to WDW before the cruise.
So, Barb, where are you staying? Have you made your plans? Dying to hear it all!! C'mon! Spill!

Tom, thanks for the shout out...my sores are much better thanks! :lmao: Ready to work those biceps :drinking1 :thumbsup2

Barb, I really like your idea of just scheduling our own margarita/beer/wine tastings! Has anyone done this with a big group before? BTW, I'm so glad you're coming in early! We're staying near the parks too. I hope it works out to get together beforehand. How much was that hummer again? Maybe we COULD round up 20 of us to carpool to the port in the morning!

I'm with you all on the pre-cruise planning...who can we get to bring us back Navigators? Isn't BowTieJoe going the week before us? Too late then, I guess...Anyone else? I understand just using it as a guideline, like you said, CG, but I still want to get a look at a more current one! :magnify: (mostly 'cause I'm just SOOOO excited for the date to arrive, that I must plan plan plan in order to stay calm. :yay: )

I was a bad, bad girl this wknd. Dinner and a movie sat nite (granted it was off Applebee's WW menu at 4 pts, but I used that as an excuse to gorge myself on disgusting movie popcorn!), then a McD bfast sandwich on my way out of town Sun, a little steak for lunch, and then my brother bought Kentucky Fried Ckn for dinner! Then I was getting sleepy on the way home and coffee wasn't cutting it, so I actually got a small Blizzard at DQ! :crazy2: Eeeewwww! It looks even worse all typed out on the screen like that! Of course I was not happy with the scale this am, but I WILL NOT give up! Besides, I've been eating better for several weeks, so I even felt yucky after all that...I wonder what that means for eating on the ship?? :scratchin

hopefully it's not like my feeling yucky after Friday's TB meal. :guilty:

I actually need to stop planning and just get away from it for a while so I am awed when we get there. But I do this every time. I plan in advance and then slack off at the end to everyone's detriment as I have been known to forget PS numbers, flight confirmations, etc.

I went to Wal-Mart today, yes, it's true. I was pretty PO'd about the whole excursion too. I went to get one of those over-the-door shoe holders and they had zippo. I was peeeesed. I got all the miscelaneous stuff like shout wipes, wrinkle release, static guard (I can't cruise without it with my hair being so fine), air freshener, and night lights. But the main goal was not achieved and I wasted a damn hour of my life in that hole (ours is nasty and its brand new too). We don't have an easily accesible dollar store - apparently I work in the high rent doistrict and no one needs a dollar store - harummmphhhh!

OK - enough bad mood posts from me. Any ideas where I can score one? Target's is on-line only now and is over $10.

Rubysmom- I know what you mean about feeling yucky. I ate pretty bad while we were in DC, we went to the Cheesecake Factory in Arlington and at an awesome Greek Restaurant the next night. I feel horrible today.

Pat- Luckily Jared is to young to know who PeeWee is.

Suzie- Thank you for the card, Meghan really appreciated it. Do I send the check for the bracelets to you or to Shyla? My life has been so crazy but finally things are calmed down and I am trying to catch up.

Barb- That is great you get to go to WDW.

I agree we need to see some new navigators!!

Question? Has anyone been to Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian? My parents are going down 4 nights before the cruise and since they will have their formal wear with them I was thinking they should go the V&A for dinner one night. It sounds like a place my Mom would love.

Tom- We love Quaker Steak and Lube, we have gone to the one in Erie and my parents have one near their house too.

OHJULIE- We rented the 40 year old Virgin a few weeks ago, I don't consider myself a prude but the first 15 min. was just so crude we didn't finish it even though it seemed funny. I guess we just weren't in the right frame of mind that night.

You are very welcome! She should be proud of her accomplishments - I know you are!

Bracelet money goes to Shyla. Her address is on the yahoo site.

Catching up.....I think it's a myth. You never catch up - or at least I never do! Hate that feeling!

Advice to all.....and to myself!....you can plan all you want, but when you're having a good time, things go out the window!!! We had so much fun just sitting on deck or sitting in the pool watching Tori love the water...forgot all those plans we had...it is vacation after all! ENJOY! I know we will!!! It's a time to be lazy and relax, a time to enjoy the family....keep repeating it to yourself and it finally sinks in! There is so much to do you just can't do it all without driving yourself crazy! Pick a few things that are ULTRA important and really try for those. If you get to anything else, well, that's just icing on the cake! We are going to have so much fun!!

Maria - where was the Greek Restaurant? In Arlington? Is that where you stayed? Our favorite one is there - Aegean Taverna. Wonderful authentic Greek food and music on Fridays and Saturdays....Kind of like Helena's in Detroit (Tom and Julie) but a little better and not so crowded.

Ed had a meeting tonight with his contract. Was supposed to have been home by now, I waited dinner for him, but when I called him to find out where he was, he hadn't even left Old Town yet! I could strangle him! He knows I hate when he's late and doesn't call me! So, now it's hurry to feed the kid an hour later than normal and she's little miss cranky pants now....I don't want that, it's yucky! Hate nights like this....

Any ideas where I can score one?
Target has them in store for about $7-8....Bed Bath and Beyond has them but more expensive....what about Kmart? I'm sure they'd have them but don't know how much...I'll keep thinking....

Was not impressed with Victoria and Albert. Had better service and meal at the Yachtsmen Steak House at Yacht Club. Dress up is fine there too and the staff was fantastic celebrating anniversary. To each his own just think V&A is way over rated. Could depend on when you go we were there in May.
